SportMediaset: Ibrahimovic and Donnarumma almost certain to leave Milan this summer

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will be forced to say goodbye to both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Gianluigi Donnarumma this summer, according to a report.

The future of the duo has been under question for some time, with Donnarumma’s deal set to expire in 2021 and no reports of an imminent renewal, while Ibrahimovic’s contract only runs until June anyway.

Journalist Paolo Bargiggia has told SportMediaset (via MilanLive) seems certain that the farewells of both the Swede and the Italy international are on the horizon.

Both have the same agent – Mino Raiola – and salaries that break through the cap that Gazidis has in mind. The striker has a gentleman’s agreement with the company for a renewal of €6m-a-year in the event of a Champions League qualification, which currently seems impossibly.

Gigio also earns €6m per season, and relations between Mino Raiola and Gazidis are not good. Attempts have been unsuccessful to discuss the contract extension of the young goalkeeper. Milan cannot afford to lose him on a free transfer in 2021 and therefore will have to sell him in the coming transfer window, so as to get a maximum capital gain from his departure.
