Sports Digitale: Origi offered Milan escape as Trabzonspor open talks

By Oliver Fisher -

Divock Origi may have a route out of AC Milan after all as a team from Turkey have expressed an interest in signing him, according to a report.

Origi will leave Milan before the end of the summer having returned from a rather unsuccessful season on loan at Nottingham Forest, where he scored only one goal and none in the Premier League.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic explained in Paulo Fonseca’s presentation press conference that the Belgian is not a part of the plans and would be training with Milan Futuro, but he hasn’t even been doing that.

As per the Turkish source Sports Digitale, Trabzonspor are in talks with Origi over a potential move and negotiations are underway, something that the club president has apparently confirmed in a live broadcast.

They are getting ready for the Europa League preliminaries starting from the second round against the Slovakian side Ruzomberok and are looking to add to their attacking options, it seems.

Origi arrived at Milan in the 2022 summer window and was expected to be someone who allowed Olivier Giroud to manage his minutes but he struggled to contribute and to stay fit, leading to his current status as an outcast looking for a new club.

  1. I hope he will stop thinking highly about himself, be realistic, amd accept the move. He is still under 30 years old, still able to regain his performance instead of getting “free salary” at a club that is above his level (which somehow actually indicates his low motivation)

  2. Have a feeling they won’t be able to offer him similar wages, and we’ll have to subsidise the loan.

At this point he’s become such a joke and a stain on this club, cut him loose. Take the loss. Totally unnecessary distraction.

(I don’t blame him for not taking a massive wage cut BTW, just thought he’d have more realism on his true ability and accept a move to a lesser club /league)

  3. He won’t go there. At this point we will have to terminate his contract and end up paying him. Ugh. Same old story

  4. it’s only one option to terminate contract. I understand that he was free agent and they gave him big contract, but why so long… we can’t make any profits on him. if he accept to release Milan when club will offer him compensation around 1.5-2.5 millions so still better than 4 millions. useless guy. better to pay him and forget about his exist.
