Sporx: Fenerbahce return for Krunic after failed summer pursuit of the Milan midfielder

By Euan Burns -

Turkish side Fenerbahce are showing interest in signing Rade Krunic from AC Milan again after they tried to sign the Bosnian midfielder in the summer, a report claims.

As has been reported by Sporx in Turkey (via Pianeta Milan), the Super Lig side are still very keen on Krunic and they think that a deal can be done for him in January.

Krunic had agreed on terms with Fenerbahce but he chose not to force the move. He allowed the negotiations to play out between the two clubs, and Fenerbahce never managed to offer what Milan wanted, which was roughly €15m.

Milan were planning to renew the contract of Krunic in the near future but those discussions seem to have stalled, which has created more of an opening for Fenerbahce to reignite their interest.

With Ismael Bennacer set to return from injury soon, Milan may be more willing to sell Krunic than they were in the summer.

  1. With Pioli being gone at some point from today until the end of the season( the sooner, the better), Milan should get whatever money they can get for Krunic while they can.
He is 30 already and he is guaranteed to miss some time during every season because of injuries . The older he is the more frequent the injuries will get.

  2. Krunic just isn’t good enough for Milan and when Bennacer returns he won’t see the field much… So I’m not sure what would hold him here. He isn’t a spring chicken anymore so if other clubs are offering too money, he should definitely take what he can get.

    1. How is he not “good enough” if he helped us win the Scudetto and get to the semi-finals of the champions league?

Are the players we signed that haven’t achieved and may never achieve any of that better!

        1. What does that even mean?

          Deal with the facts.

The players who everyone seems to think are so much better have mostly won nothing.

So on what basis is anyone saying they’re better?

Because they get a warm, fuzzy feeling when they seem them play?

          1. That’s like me saying castillejo helped win us a scudetto. Krunic barely played that season and if he did it was because we had no other choice. Don’t make it seem like he was just as crucial as tonali, Kessie, bennacer.

          2. @ Milanellofm

He had 28 appearances and played a crucial role whilst Bennacer and Kessie were at the African Cup of Nations!

And, yes, Castillejo helped us win the Scudetto with a crucial goal against Verona that caused him to break into tears.

You don’t get to decide who is a Scudetto winner.

      1. Why are u always supporting mediocre? Have always noticed u. Are u a low level supporter? Milan is a big club, we don’t settle for less. We need high level players not krunic and beside, during our scudetto season krunic wasn’t a first nor a second choice. He’s behind kessie, tonali and bennacer, so stop making up for him. Pls go support fiorentina or Atalanta if u want ur club to be at the 6th or 7th level

        1. Mediocrity?

So is winning a Scudetto now considered mediocrity?

When Krunic was playing in the semi-finals of last season’s champions league a player like Musah was fighting for 16th place in La Liga with Valencia, so who exactly is mediocre here?

          1. “When Krunic was playing in the semi-finals of last season’s champions league a player like Musah was fighting for 16th place in La Liga with Valencia, so who exactly is mediocre here?”

So based on your logic the player’s level is 100% depended on the team he plays in. Messi won the Ballon d’Or with Inter Miami. Haaland plays for Manchester City. Isn’t ManCity better than Miami? Based on your logic here Miami is better.

      2. He wasn’t even a regular in the scudetto season. The scudetto was mostly won thanks to Kessie, Tonali, Bennacer, Leao, Giroud,….
He is not so good of a player that we can reasonably turn out a 10M offer if that will allow us to reinforce weaks positions.
We don’t have a proper DM, yet you want to keep Krunic ?

    2. Idk, I think he’s a good squad player.
He has quality in keeping possession and shouldn’t go for less than 12-15M. Or at all if he relaxes his salary demands a bit.

  3. I remember everyone praising this specific player, even awarding him with mvp performance scores and naming him ‘simplicity master’ not long ago. What turned the tides now? Genuine question.

    1. Only fools like IKWYDLS would ever use the word “great” to describe Krunic.
Let’s not rewrite history here. Most never were a fan of Krunic, and the whole why in the world does Pioli love Krunic so much narrative has been going on for years now. He’s never been good enough, he’s a career back-up, and he didn’t all of a sudden get better at 30 years of age.

  4. ‘Fans’ ridiculing and insulting one of our longest serving players who helped deliver:

    – the Scudetto (28 appearances that season);
    – back to back Champions League qualifications after a 6 year absence (an absence that ended when he joined the club and made 137 appearances); and
    – the semi-finals of the Champions League (where he started every knock out game) a few short months ago.

If this is who you ridicule – what is the point of you being a fan of my football team?

You don’t deserve the successes of the past and you sure as s$%t don’t deserve any success in the future.

So please just take your toxicity somewhere else. I am sure the Inter fans can share in your disdain for our players.

    1. Don’t bother.

Most fans in here are glory hunter as fvck. They don’t care about supporting players and coach who gave a lot of contribution. They only care about getting that dopamine release from watching the club win a trophy. If the club doesn’t win a trophy then they will turn into toxic ungrateful bast*rds by insulting players and coach like they are the scum of the earth.

That’s why i rarely visit this site and post a comment anymore. I feel a lot better with less negativity and toxicity from the news or comments. I reccomend you should less visit to this site and the comment section.

      1. But that’s the thing I don’t understand.

If a person is a glory hunter then surely it’s far easier for them to support another team rather than constantly moaning about the fact that their current team doesn’t have the players or the glory that they feel they so richly deserve!

        1. Oh yeah, Pioli and his lover Krunic are in a great run of form haha. Can you tell me the last 6 weeks of results? Outside of PSG (where your idol barely played) we have all losses and two draws from giving up 2 2-goal leads. Sad!

        2. It’s possible these motherfkers already supported Inter, City, and other clubs who sit at the top of the table. And they’re here because they want that daily dose of satisfaction from complaining and mocking Milan players & coach.

Just watch. When Krunic and Pioli left, these mfkers will find the easiest target for complaining like the new coach, Calabria, Pobega, Leao, Tomori, Thiaw, or any Milan players.

      2. Krunic was never that good, we had other players that made him look better than he really is. He is someone that had to do very little, simple passes break up a tackle here or there, that isn’t irreplaceable or crucial, our team has been so bad at retaining good players, he became a player by default and the affection people have for our club blinded them. It prevented them from seeing how mediocre and limited he is, because other players did the work to compensate for him sucking. He never controlled games consistently and opened games up for us. NO INFLuence or proactive performances. Everyone else burdtef lungs over running and injuring themselves to make Krunic seem as if he was worthy.

When you want to beat good teams, everyone has to do a part of making that happen. 3 meter passes forward, backward passes and slow runs with no skills on the ball won’t accomplish that.

He is a lower tier midfielder that can start in a relegation battling team, or substitute for mid table clubs, start one game a month to rest players at most if teams can afford to loose amy given day because they don’t aspire to play in Europe.

Tonali, Bennacer, Leao and Theo carried his dead weight. When the ball was on his foot to decide games, we got thrashed and humiliated. You are delusional supporting him. We need nwtter players than him. It doesn’t cost 80 million to find them either. 15 years of us being a shadow of ourselves made yall fall asleep abd believe this dude is mkre than he actually is. We aren’t asking for the next Pirlo mixed with Xavi and Yaya Touré here. This man has to go. He is a liability.

        1. Your views of Krunic and what you imagine make a player good, bad or indifferent are irrelevant.

The only thing that matters is winning.

Krunic is a proven winner as evidenced by his winning. Many of the players we signed are not as evidenced by their lack of winning.

The rest is just opinions that increasingly have very little to do with facts. But my oh my they are oh so confident.

          1. “The only thing that matters is winning.

LOL!!!!!! Says the guy who has been trashing Milan’s management and owners for a few years already. Based on your own words they have proved to be WINNERS by winning the scudetto so you should just STFU already too. 😀

    2. Why real Madrid remain serial winners is the ability to leave sentiment out of decision making. When it was time for Raul, casillas, CR7, Roberto Carlos, Ramos, R9, guti etc to go for “new shiny things” , the club got rid of them, not minding how many years they served. By this your longest serving narrative, Ambrosini should still be our DM today. Oh please!!

      1. The reason Real remain serial winners is because they hold onto players for more than one season and don’t have a scatter gun approach to transfers.

    3. Guy am not sure u are Milan fan…u just have that stupid username has a cover up. Pls go support ur team. Leave the true Milan fans to comment on Milan issues. Always supporting every negative energy about Milan.
I wonder what kind of mentality u have…u can never be a good coach. Have noticed u all along. Pls guys, don’t reply him again he’s not a Milan fan. All Milan fans are more concerned about the red flags being noticed match after match but this one always supporting the negativity.
He’s an Inter fan, I suspect.

      1. Negative energy?

Attacking the coach and players is positive energy?

Black is white, up is down, but hey who needs facts with all these wonderful opinions.

    4. Facts!
Experienced player who has served the club very very well.
And the krunic hate on here is ridiculous. He does his best for us near every damn week.

      1. Although I personally don’t think he’s good enough to start every game, but that’s reality with the Bennacer injury and he’s a great squad player.

      2. “He does his best for us near every damn week.”

But the fact is that his “best” isn’t even remotely enough. Sure, he tries his all but it’s not sufficient. He lacks the quality needed.

        1. He’s a squad player. Bennacer is injured sadly. I don’t see the point in selling randomly. That being said, adli should be getting more minutes imo and there’s his salary demands.
Imo, the only reason to sell him would be if he doesn’t reduce his reported salary demands.

    5. “If this is who you ridicule – what is the point of you being a fan of my football team?”

      Your football team? YOUR? 😀

So in other words… You get decide who can support Milan, eh? 😀

“You don’t deserve the successes of the past and you sure as s$%t don’t deserve any success in the future.”

Deserve and deserve. The fans deserve better players than Krunic is. Milan isn’t Cremonese FFS.

    6. Even if we assume that he somehow did produce “world class” performances as you like to repeat, he is 30 years old, his best years are behind him and is asking for a lot of money.
Gabriel Jesus won many EPL, yet City brought Haaland instead of him. By your logic they should never have brought Haaland who has won nothing instead of Jesus who is a multiple EPL winner.
Heck Milan won the UCL with Rui Costa and still decided to bring a nobody who was playing in Brazil named Kaka. By your logic, this is also a wrong move.
10M for a player like Krunic is excellent, and in January we will have more than enough time to deal with some problems, and he is also not a pillar nor an irrepleceable player.
For the record I don’t have nothing against him, I know he plays to the maximum of his abilities and doesn’t cheat, but if this offer is true, it will be too good to ignore.

  5. As someone who backed krunic for many years

Its time to sell him. He has done well to help other intergrates to the system. But his time is up

    1. I agree. Krunic during the start of the season contribute to 7 win of 8 match.

But at at the moment i think its better we looking for new starter for regista. I think reijnder suitable for this position until bennacer back. Reijnder is great but his shooting is really worst. Its better he sit more deep on the back.

  6. Everyone wants the team to get better and if that means moving on from Krunic so be it. He was a contributor and now turning into a liability. Milan fans will support a player developing that makes mistakes but not support an aging player only getting worse. He wants to go to Turkey we should let him go.

    1. A liability how?

Did he concede the penalty against Udinese?

Did he try and dribble past 3 players against Lecce?

When you say “liability” do you mean “It’s a vibe thing” then sure, he’s a liability, in your head.

And, yes, just because lots of people believe the same thing doesn’t mean it’s true. See religions.

  7. Thankf god that here outside exist someone who is willing to pay for someone lke Krunić!ASAP….OFFER ACCEPTED….SOLD!!!Begone with the clown…and don’t come back!

  8. Krunic is what he was signed to be – a BACKUP player. That is it. That is his best role. Ya sure occasionally he can start here and there but let’s face it he’s a backup. And that’s ok so long as continues to play as a back up and receive backup money – he can see out his contract (unless a big offer came) and that’s that. However, IF he wants to start and earn a starting salary then we should sell. He’s been a good TEAM player for us and there is not need to bash him – he’s limited in his ability. We paid 8M for him so can’t expect much. It is also NOT THIS FAULT he is our starter. That is Pioli and MANAGEMENT’S fault for: (a) Pioli for Starting him every game despite many subpar performances and a general lack of ability to distribute the ball; and (b) MANAGEMENT’S failure to sign a better player in his spot. AGAIN another MISTAKE any Pioli and Management to rely on Krunic as the starter just as it was a mistake to not sign Taremi, Lukaku or Thuram when we had the chance, or get a backup LB, etc…

    1. To be fair this is a player at a crossing road, who might remain with us or leave during the winter.
And given that this is the international break, I find it normal to talk about his situation.

      1. Oh I hear you. I just find it funny though. You put Krunic in an article on the downtime (International break)….we have what, 50+ comments?
On his re-signing, I don’t really know what to say. Can’t fault dude if he has a higher offer elsewhere at his age. He was our back up mid a year or so ago, now a starter. That’s on management
