SPTC: Chelsea ‘angling’ midfielder towards Milan move as interest remains

Chelsea are hoping that AC Milan will sign Carney Chukwuemeka from them in the final week of the transfer window as the Premier League side looks to reduce their swollen squad.

According to a report from TalkChelsea, the Premier League side are keen to sell Chukwuemeka given there are so many other midfield options at the club and they are still potentially trying to sign a striker.

Chelsea have so many players now that almost half of the seniors are training separately to the players that Enzo Maresca is actively working with, but Chukwuemeka is one of the people training with Maresca.

Despite that, they are trying to utilise Milan’s previous interest in the player and the fact the Rossoneri are in the market for a midfielder.

The young midfielder would be open to leaving Chelsea and he was enthusiastic about a potential move to Crystal Palace earlier in the window. Chelsea seem more intent on pushing him towards Milan although it is not clear why at this stage.

The midfielder that Milan look most likely to sign at this stage is Manu Kone from Borussia Monchengladbach, with the Frenchman expected to cost around €20m. Milan are also trying to sell midfielders like Ismael Bennacer, Tommaso Pobega and Yacine Adli.

    1. Vos is a kid for Milan Futuro. He has huge potential but right now isn’t even considerd for the 1st team. He is far from a finished product.

Kone is more defense oriented while Chukwuemeka is more offensive. Its just not a fair comparison

      1. The Vos signing is strange to me. While I do think we could use another DM, as you said it looks like he’s initially going to Futuro. Yet, part of the reason he’s pushing for an exit from Ajax is that he’s not getting enough first team reps. It doesn’t make sense that he’d want to go from getting some, but not enough first team action for Ajax to Serie C.

        1. That’s what strange to me too.
Unless Milan promise him playing time with the senior team then why would he choose Milan if the sole reason he wants to leave Ajax is because lack of playing time.
No way Milan can guarantee him a starter in senior team.

    1. We have Origi and Ballo Toure, Chelsea has (per Transfermarkt valuation and Capology gross salaries):
      – Disasi – 40M – 5M salary
      – Sterling – 35M – 20M salary
      – Lukaku – 30M – 20M salary
      – Chilwell – 28M – 12M salary
+ at least another 9 players in their second first team…

  2. Milan tried making a move for him last year when he was leaving Villa but Chelsea made an exorbitant bid (shocking, I know) to bring him in. You could see a mile away that was a bad career move and now he has to make up that one year of lost development. Good player but Milan’s midfield is stacked. Without some sales there isnt even room.

  3. Skip, not worth. ACM need theo vice or if still insist better go another chelsea player like casadei or other italian like prati
