CorSera: Spurs trio among the targets Milan have for midfielder and centre-back roles

By Oliver Fisher -

With the arrival of Charles De Ketelaere now sealed, AC Milan have not stopped on the market as they still lack two pieces: a midfielder and a central defender.

Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) reports this morning that there will be no more signings made for the attack, which rules out the idea of a new right winger arriving given that Junior Messias and Alexis Saelemaekers will remain.

Milan have had to change their ideas with regards to the midfield because Renato Sanches is heading for PSG and Carney Chukwuemeka will go to Chelsea from Aston Villa for €22m.

Pape Matar Sarr – a 19-year-old Tottenham midfielder – is in the sights and the Rossoneri are offering a loan with option to buy but Spurs want it to be an obligation. The profiles of Tanguy Ndombélé of Tottenham and Douglas Luiz of Aston Villa are also monitored.

The centre-back that arrives is expected to be a loan, and Abdou Diallo – the 26-year-old Senegal international – seems to be a concrete target given he will leave PSG. Tottenham’s Japhet Tanganga is an option too, while Evan N’Dicka of Eintracht Frankfurt is a track that has cooled down.

  1. I think we will be better long term signing N’dicka. This guy has just had an outstanding season at Frankfurt and included in Bundesliga team of the season.

  2. Late last May, Maldini said he want to sign 2-3 new players and consolidation.

He consolidated it by retaining Messias and Florenzi. He already signed 2 new players, Origi and CDK, which means only 0-1 new player remain based on his plan.

Given that Milan can only register 23 players out of 27 first team players currently in the squad, with only 1 club-homegrown and 1 association-homegrown slots remain available, I think he will prioritize homegrown player over those linked in the media.
