AC Milan have not really had too much interest in signing a new wing-back this summer. However, they are keen to make the most of opportunities.
In recent summers, it has become frustrating seeing the word ‘opportunity’ mentioned so often. However, with more than €100 spent by Milan this summer, it has become a bit more acceptable, considering the circumstances.

After all, sales are needed for any signings to be made. However, if someone too good to refuse arises, then things could be worked out, it seems.
Spence an option for Milan
One player who could fit that bill may be Djed Spence, who is available this summer. As The Sun writes, he is not ‘for sale’, so to speak, but Spurs have given him a €40 million price tag and are open to his departure.
Liverpool are a big source of interest in the Premier League, but they are not the leading candidates. Instead, others in England are more involved, as are clubs from Italy.
Inter have held talks about the wing-back, whilst the report also suggests that the Rossoneri are interested in the Englishman. However, Ruben Amorim is not believed to be desperate for another player like Spence.
In other words, the interest may be there, but there are other things to prioritise right now…

get Brahim Diaz for 25-30M and upgrade Tomori… A tier mercato done

I think Olmo suits us better than Diaz, if only this was football manager and we could convince him to leave Barca. A deal swapping him with Leao would be a massive upgrade
Missing out on certain opportunities would certainly cost us more than paying for those players to come to the club in the first place.
What are we still waiting for, a third season without CL in a row? There must be a predesigned deadline for some transfers even we don’t sale anyone this summer, we can’t start this season without at least two or three more players, that is an unacceptable behaviour and a horrible way of running such a club and dealing with things in it.
We currently have more players on the books than we can register for Serie A or UEFA competitions.
The responsible thing to do would be to make the most of the resources we’ve got, rather than gamble on buying yet more players we can’t sell in a year or two.
Maybe instead of assuming we’re two or three signings from UCL, we have to say that we spent a lot in the last two years and that didn’t work, so maybe trying the exact same thing again isn’t a guarantee of success.
We’ve addressed the one glaring weakness from last season quickly. Credit to the club for that. Now if we can’t offload players then we have to get the most from them; RLC, Rabiot and Leao are our AMs, Musah is our wildcard box-to-box player, Chukwueze is our new RWB and it’s up to the coach to get them playing.
We have the third or fourth biggest payroll in the division; can’t keep throwing money at it with none coming in, time to get clever with what we have.

RLC should have been offloaded a long time ago, who needs an unreliable and an inconsistent player like that? Rabiot is perfect for a double-pivot composition and concept, there is no need for him to move somewhere and anywhere else.

I’m just facing the reality of where we’re at. I’ve never been a big fan of RLC, he’s fine as an option when he’s available but he’s pretty much been injured since his first season.
Musah was a gamble, ended up being an overpay, but he’s not going to fetch us any money now. Is he worth what we paid? No. Is he a serviceable 3rd choice WB and 6th choice CM? Yes, if we can even register him. Likelihood is he ends up on loan somewhere.
I understand your answers but you’re playing a Fantasy Football game that isn’t based in the reality of where we are today with these players we have on the deals we bought them on. “Should have done X two years ago” is fine thinking, but we didn’t and this is what we have a few weeks before Serie A starts.
We’re never going to have a perfect squad, we will have to fashion something with some imperfect parts. Biggest question isn’t who we can bring in, it’s who we register for the team and which players we can’t register we can find a taker for to offset some of the extra costs we’ve assumed for this year.
So, writing off RLC is something we actually pretty much agree on, nice.
WHETHER WE CAN EVEN register is something we shouldn’t even need to think about 25-26 days before the closing of the transfer window, it’s that phase when we should have already known that kind of stuff but OK, I guess keeping him as a 3/6 isn’t the worst thing that could happen to us. I am perfectly aware of the reality and I know that my dreams will never come true and never fulfill 100% so some perfect squad is out of reach and the realm of possibility, but this is really bad.

Brilliant, sell Spence buy expensive foreign Players and then be unable to play them because we can only have a squad of 19. Absolute genius. As it is unless Scarlett counts as home grown we will only have 21 in the squad.
