Star of Milan Women renews contract until 2024 – the latest news on the team

By Steph Insixiengmay -

Just like with the men’s team, there has been some movement on the market for the women’s team. Just a few minutes, Milan announced the renewal of Valentina Giacinti and there is more to come.

The star and captain of the team has officially renewed her contract with the club, signing a new deal until 2024. The announcement, as stated, was made this morning on the website: “AC Milan is delighted to announce that Valentina Giacinti has extended her contract with the women’s team until 30 June 2024”.

Similarly, Refiloe Jane’s renewal has been finalized and will be announced within the upcoming days.

The Rossonere are also close to signing defender Laia Codina on loan from FC Barcelona. The move is a major coup for Milan, as Codina is a talented defender who has experience at the highest level. She is expected to play a prominent role for Milan and her signing will make the team legitimate title contenders.

In other news, Milan Women played a round-robin friendly against Swiss champs Servette and the newly formed Sampdoria. They participated in a mini-tournament where they played both teams for 45 minutes. Milan experimented with their lineup and substituted several players before each match and both matches ended in a nil-nil draw.
