Stats suggest four candidates to be the hero in AC Milan vs. Juventus

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan versus Juventus is the game where memories are made and heroes come to the fore, with a number of candidates ahead of tonight’s game.

We start with Ante Rebic who seems to have Juventus as his favourite victim. Since he joined Milan from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2019, the Croatian has scored four goals against Juve in all competitions. No other player has scored more against them in that period, as he is tied with Giovanni Simeone and Ruslan Malinovskyi).

Then there is the Rossoneri’s talisman Rafael Leão, who has been involved in the most Serie A goals (22) in 2022 with 11 goals and 11 assists to his name. Since 2004-05, only two Milan players have had a hand in more league goals in a single calendar year: Kaká in 2008 (27) and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in 2020 (26).

Rebic has had his injury problems but he averages one goal every 49 minutes on average so far in the league this season, and this is where a threat for Juve comes in as Arkadiusz Milik is on one goal every 78 minutes as the Poland international seems to be relishing being back in Serie A.

Dusan Vlahovic is of course their main man though having scored five league goals this season (one less than the leader Ciro Immobile with six). He scored a brace for Fiorentina against Milan last season, while he there is no stadium where he has played more Serie A matches without scoring than at San Siro (three games).
