AC Milan are preparing to start a new era of the club in the summer, and there is a big decision to make, one which fans must be on board with.
After this season, there is a need to recoup and go again. A chance to tend to wounds and then fight back towards where Milan should be. However, there is a big question that looms over next season, and in fairness, those that follow that.
How do the Rossoneri go about their rebuild?
There are logically two options: either Milan go full steam ahead and aggressively attack the future, looking to make up on lost ground from this year. Alternatively, there could be a period of settling, where the club look to rebuild without ‘pressure’, and go again when the time is right.
Whilst you can not bet on which approach the Diavolo will take, you can bet on results and fixtures with most betting apps.
Within reason, Milan have a very short window to choose which way they will go, and that decision wil already be beginning to be made by the new sporting director, who looks set to be Igli Tare currently, though with the Rossoneri, there are never any guarantees.
From him, the plan of the next few years is born, but you can argue that the most important season is the 2025/26 one. After all, the first step is always the most notable, given that it is the start of something new.
Of course, that first step is not always a positive one. In life, it is always heavily anticipated and sometimes you will take a few more steps, on other occasions you will fall, but this is where the Rossoneri must learn, and to be cliche, go with the flow. However, that is getting slightly carried away. What we really must focus on is that number one.
As stated, there are two options. A passive reorder, or an aggressive attack at the roots, which need to be replanted as soon as possible, realistically, of course.
For many, the goal next season will be to aim for the Scudetto, a brave target, but for a club like Milan, it is the minimum to at least try for the title. However, the other option is a return to the Champions League, a more realistic aim, with a little more leniency, even if it may be slightly less exciting.
