During his official presentation, Strinic spoke about the move to the Rossoneri, having joined on a free transfer before the new ownership took charge.
On what he expects: “I had a great World Cup with my country, it was a great month. We’re very happy as we achieved something big in our history. This will help me carry a positive feeling into the club season. I’m not 100% yet with my injury, but I’ll be available in a weeks time or so.”
On Maldini: “Paolo is a legend, not just for Milan. I’m very proud to be sitting next to him. It’s amazing to be alongside Maldini, and of course Leonardo.”
On the competition: “I haven’t been here for long. Rodriguez is a great player, but we’ll see how things go. It’s down to Gattuso, but I will be battling with Rodriguez for a spot in the starting eleven.”
On his former teammates at Napoli (Higuain & Reina): “I played with them for more than a year. We achieved some good results together. We had a very good manager at the time, Sarri always wanted to win. Now I hope we can achieve great things here at Milan together.”
On playing vs. Croatia teammates in the derby: “It’s always beautiful to play the derby. I’m ready for it, I look forward to facing my national teammates.”
On Kalinic leaving: “I haven’t seen him since the incident at the World Cup. We have spoken about it, though, as well as about other things. He spoke very highly of the club.”
