It has been a tough start to the season on all fronts for AC Milan, not just the first team. Indeed, the club management has come under scrutiny in the last few weeks and it remains to be seen what the season evaluations will look like.
Paulo Fonseca and the first team continued their season of ups and downs yesterday, losing 2-1 to Atalanta at Gewiss Stadium. Milan Futuro, meanwhile, are struggling big time at the bottom of Serie A and Milan Women have just four wins in the first eleven games.
The Primavera is the only positive, somewhat, as today’s win against Sampdoria brought them within four points of league leaders Sassuolo (at the time of writing). However, even for Federico Guidi’s men there have been too many periods of poor form.
- Men’s first team: 7th after 14 games (6W, 4D, 4L)
- Women’s first team: 6th after 11 games (4W, 2D, 5L)
- Futuro: 18th after 17 games (2W, 7D, 8L)
- Primavera: 4th after 14 games* (8W, 1D, 5L)
It should be noted that the Primavera have played one more game than some of the opponents below them, so the position could change. Nevertheless, the sitrep paints a rather dire picture for an ambitious ownership like RedBird and it’s clear that mistakes were made in the summer.
The question, therefore, is who will survive for next season? Only time will tell…
So when are we going to start talking about how these Americans ruined the women’s team as well
