Study reveals extent of Milan’s boom in merchandise sales after Scudetto win

AC Milan are reaping the rewards for their Scudetto win off the pitch as they have had a big spike in demand for shirts, a report claims.

A study from Kiliagon (via Il Posticipo) reports that Real Madrid sold the most jerseys in the 2021-22 season on Amazon, with a turnover of €3.3m euros in merchandising, ahead of Paris Saint Germain who had €2.2m.

Kiliagon analysed the results of merchandising sales on Amazon of the four major European leagues: Spain, Italy, England and France, reaching annual revenues estimated at €12.3m. Real Madrid were the team with the highest annual turnover, reaching €3.3m as mentioned and increasing the billing by more than 400% percent compared to 2018.

After PSG, Milan – the current Serie A champions – are in third place with over €1.5m of sales with a boom of 231% rise in jerseys sold after the Scudetto. Milan’s rise was only betted by the 166% jump that Real Madrid had after they won the Champions League.
