Milan CRO Stylsvig explains importance of Emirates renewal amid plans for Dubai office

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s Chief Revenue Officer Casper Stylsvig has explained why the extension of the agreement with Emirates is so significant for the club.

The official website confirmed earlier today that Milan and Emirates have agreed to extend a relationship that has spanned over 15 years now, and has seen them be the official shirt sponsor for the men’s first team since the 2010-11 campaign.

Casper Stylsvig spoke to the club website as part of the announcement and explained just why the continuation of the long-running agreement is a show of strength.

“We are truly proud to extend our partnership with Emirates and to continue to build upon our relationship with the world’s largest international airline,” he said.

“Much like Emirates, AC Milan is committed to strengthening our bond with our global audience and continuing to do so alongside a brand that is capable of connecting the world from its global centre in Dubai makes us all very proud. With this new deal, AC Milan and Emirates will be side by side for almost two decades, a testament to the strength and depth of our unique relationship.”

It is not just a financially beneficial move therefore given the reports that the deal is worth €90-105m, but it is also a strategic move given there are 2.5 million passionate fans in the region.

As a testament to the commitment of the club to the region, Milan also state that they have plans to open a new office in Dubai, which will serve as a base for the club to further develop its commercial and communication strategy in the Middle East.
