It has finally been confirmed that RB Leipzig have completed the signing of Dominic Szoboszlai from Red Bull Salzburg, ending the saga.

As per The Athletic, playmaker will join the Bundesliga side for an initial fee of €20m, and they have beaten competition from Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Milan, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur to secure his signature.

Szoboszlai has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract until 2025, and the report adds that there is 20 per cent sell-on clause which applies to the entire fee of a future transfer and not just the profit.

“I’m very pleased that this transfer has been completed. The club has developed fantastically. It is among the best teams in the Bundesliga and is also doing well in the Champions League,” Szoboszlai told the club’s official website.

“This step is perfect for my development. I’m coming to Leipzig to work under a top coach and in an extremely ambitious team, that is very young but also has a lot of experience and has been able to celebrate success.

“Here, I’ll be able to continue my development incredibly and I want to help the club to continue its success in 2021.”

Szoboszlai joined Salzburg from their affiliate club FC Liefering in January 2018 and has racked up an impressive 26 goals in 82 appearances, announcing himself on the Champions League stage for the first time this season.
