AC Milan have decided to pause renewal talks with Rafael Leao and are undergoing some reflections regarding his future.
Leao has been in the headlines a lot over the past couple of weeks, since his emotional reaction after being taken off in the defeat against Lazio. That led to talk that a sale would be considered in the summer, but reliable sources have always claimed a new contract is being discussed.

Leao: The latest from Sky
According to what is being reported by Sky, Bologna striker Santiago Castro is the number one target for the attacking department in view of the summer. Interestingly, in the same article, they mention something about Leao.
They acknowledge how Leao’s contract expires in 2028. There was talk of a possible extension to recognise his importance to AC Milan’s project, but in recent weeks, discussions have stalled somewhat. The renewal is currently on hold, and the Portuguese’s future remains to be seen.
It comes after a meeting that took place between Massimiliano Allegri, Igli Tare and Giorgio Furlani last week regarding the strategy and plans for a big summer window, given the Rossoneri look very likely at the moment to return to playing Champions League football.
No more information is given by Sky regarding whether Milan are looking to sell him, how much for if so and what his possible market might be.

Cheap and baseless gossip.
