Tare discusses alignment with Allegri, Kone rumours and returns for Camarda and Comotto

Igli Tare has provided some interesting comments on a potential transfer target as well as a possible Italian core at AC Milan.

The equation for Milan is quite a simple one: they need a maximum of six points out of the 12 remaining in order to book a place in the Champions League for next season. They will of course hope to surge over the line rather than fall over it, but recent form has suggested the latter is more likely.

The Rossoneri have won just two of their last six games in the league, and they have failed to score in three of their last four. Along with that, Luka Modric is out until potentially the end of the season, so the keys to the midfield will be passed over to Ardon Jashari.

Tare spoke to DAZN not long before kick-off at the Mapei Stadium and responded to questions on a number of topics related to Milan’s present and future. MilanNews relayed what he had to say.

Will you use the chance to watch Sassuolo’s Ismael Kone up close?

“He’s definitely a player who had a great season with Sassuolo, like the entire team. He’s a player with certain characteristics and also knows the high levels, having played some important matches in France. He could be a key player for Sassuolo.”

There was another meeting this week with Allegri. Are all parties aligned for the future?

“Absolutely. We have this routine almost every week: we have lunch together or a meeting at Casa Milan with the coach and Furlani. We’re in agreement about what we need to do for next season and what this team is lacking.”

Allegri said that Comotto and Camarda will return to the base next year. Is there any intention of re-forming that Italian core?

“Absolutely, but I also think there’s been excellent work done with the players coming from Milan’s youth academy. There are some excellent players who trained with the first team during the season: we’re keeping a close eye on that.”

Are you also talking about the possibility of having the team play with other formations?

“Yes, also. Also looking at some of the players’ characteristics that can allow the team to play differently. It will be an important season; we must try to show up with a quality team but also with a team that can play in different ways.”
