As Calciomercato.com write, the hiring of Allegri is a significant first step in building a team called upon to bounce back from a disastrous season that culminated in not qualifying for any of the European competitions.

The second step will be to understand the real intentions of the big names in the squad, some of whom are coming off a year that was decidedly below their potential, such as Theo Hernandez.

Theo: A future to be written

Theo Hernández’s future is an unknown at present. Negotiations for the renewal of his contract, which expires in 2026, have been stalled for too many months. The feeling is that the relationship is coming to an end.

And yet, the last word hasn’t been said yet because Igli Tare and Allegri want to speak directly with the player to understand his motivations ahead of a season that will require determination and a strong sense of belonging. The doors to Milan aren’t double-locked for Theo yet.

Hernández’s entourage are exploring the market but at the moment no concrete offers have arrived from clubs that are part of the football elite. Instead, the biggest bid has come from Al-Hilal: €18m net per year is on the table from the Saudi side.

Al-Hilal are waiting for a response from the player, with the awareness that first the decisive meeting with Tare and Allegri will have to take place before he opens up to other possibilities.
