Igli Tare became operational as AC Milan’s new sporting director on Monday, and after his first day of work he went to dinner with the management.

According to Calciomercato.com, the meal that took place last night in a well-known hotel in Milano also has a strong symbolic value. The Albanian director ate with Giorgio Furlani, Geoffrey Moncada and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The latter did the honours of leading the proceedings with smiles and hugs for a man who was his choice since day one of the long casting process for the role of sporting director. It was a dinner that lasted more than four hours where all the priority issues were addressed, starting with the renewals.

For Theo Hernandez, the club do not seem inclined to make significant efforts, while the discussion is completely different in relation to Mike Maignan and Christian Pulisic. Both the French goalkeeper and the American winger are considered fundamental for the project, so offers will be formulated.

On the coach question, an appointment is not expected quickly. The idea is to wait for Vincenzo Italiano while the path that leads to Massimiliano Allegri – who is heading for Napoli – is definitely fading.

The alternatives have not yet been contacted but remain on the list. Thiago Motta is certainly a credible option because Tare has been studying him for years and wanted him at Lazio.

  1. “Tare, Furlani, Moncada and Zlatan have four-hour dinner”
    There must have been a lot of food then.

  2. During dinner, to the waiter:
    Tare: I think I’ll start with the gorgonzola ravioli
    Furlani: No, he’ll take the tomato bruschetta

  3. “ On the coach question, an appointment is not expected quickly. ”

    Yup because waiting and waiting on coaches, transfers, renewals, etc…has always worked for us in the past LOLOLOLO🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

    4 hours to discuss if we can afford to bring Walter Birsa back out of retirement to be our starting ACM

  4. Inters’ marotta is more efficient than all these ppl spearheading Milan. At this time of the season when a coach should be affirmed, we are still in suspense. My Milan that played beautiful football has now become a joke on and off the pitch.

  5. Are you sure it wasn’t a five person dinner with CM’s intrepid and truth-seeking journalist? Or was Moncada texting them live updates throughout?

  6. Serious clubs have already confirmed their various coaches or on the process of appointing one. But, my Milan and it’s clown management are still waiting for a cheap coach.

  7. With king rat furlani around, things may have gone like this:
    a) guys, remember I AM THE BOSS HERE;
    b) guys, please do not wake me up. I TAKE ONE DECISION EVERY SIX MONTHS – and even that is too much for me;
    c) guys, forget about an expensive coach – we will find the CHEAPEST AND NOT THE MOST COMPETENT ONE;
    d) guys, which players have the highest sales value? – let us sell those straightaway;
    e) guys, let us reduce salary of all those whose contract is under discussion – if they don’t accept, kick them away; and
    f) guys, i spoke about not needing to make sacrifices last week to pacify fans. We can do the opposite bècause i don’t care about milan fans.

    Let us all drink to this.
