AC Milan spent a significant amount of time choosing a sporting director and they eventually settled on Igli Tare. However, he could already be leaving.
Before the summer mercato, Milan spent a fair while looking for a sporting director. In fact, the deadline kept being pushed back. Initially, it was Easter, then just after and eventually Tare was hired in May.
Since joining, it is unknown what he has actually done. Now, that is not said from a place of harshness. Instead, there have been several conflicts about which party has pushed for which signing. So, we do not know where exactly he has been responsible.
Tare on his way?
Earlier today, it was reported that Gerry Cardinale could reconsider the set-up of the management and now, there are suggestions that Tare could leave the Rossoneri less than a year after joining the club. The following comes from Marco Varini on X.
“Most likely, by the end of the season, Igli Tare will leave. The relationship with AC Milan never took off, from certain market choices, to certain statements, starting from the summer and the famous Gimenez chaos. Hard to see it continuing.”

Replace him with a marketing guy from the States? Give more power to Zlatan as he has truly proven himself? LOL, I’d rather replace everyone else in the management than the one guy who understands football.
They should replace him with a capable sporting director, Milan doesn’t need bargain hunters that can’t find a bargain. Tare is a big fail.
In theory, yes. But even with a capable sporting director, how much of a say does that person get with Furlani still there? Tare is just a front for whatever Furlani wants to do, like the whole Nkunku mystery.
Acm1899 I never seen someone like you here you are trying to force us to accept your opinion nkunku bought by tare everyone knows that, furlani warned him over that deal but he refused to listen to furlani, furlani is wise man he can’t trust people like Maldini and tare because their signings are talking right now in the sporting side moncada are leading he is trustworthy person under him we sign costic that boy from Serbia and we missed Andre moncada is reliable that’s why furlani allows him to operate while tare still here
I think based on what you had just said, it makes absolutely zero sense to engage with you.
Continue thinking that.
what? I remember reading article somewhere in here that said it was furlani alone that bought nkunku because of his close relationship with chelsea management.. nobody between tare and allegri wants nkunku.
Julian why do we Need SD if our CEO can buy players furlani never bought single player that’s not his job
Why does a club need a sporting director?
Why can’t the coach decide who to sign for the team they’re coaching?
The point of sporting director was supposed to bring stability so that coaches could be hired and fired but the squad would remain in tact under the watchful eye of the sporting director.
However what actually ended up happening was sporting directors (and the other hanger on’ers) had to justifying their existence/got bored/got kick backs, so rather than bringing stability to the squad they brought chaos with endless wheeling and dealing.
So why not just allow the coach decide?
It might force the club to back a long term project rather than chopping and changing.
that’s the difference between a coach and a manager.. coach can’t decide which players he wants to buy and can only suggest to sporting director of his player preferences.. a manager can.. like sir alex..
What a clown show at Milan.
Vem vill arbeta åt pajasen Anale
Not only tare ibrahimovic and alegri should be included
You’ve spoken the truth bro. What’s wrong with Allegri not giving out young players opportunity to showcase their potentials. Instead of playing 433 he has proven adamant sticking to his traditional 352 when Milan doesn’t have what it takes to deliver with such formation.
*Our young players
Kingz 💯 correct
What young players? He plays Barthesaghi all the time and he cost us a lot of points. What is this stupid Naravtiv about Alegri? Do you like to finish 8th again ? Is that better? Coneciaco or Fonseca?
Disregard them.
How did Bartesaghi cost Milan a lot of points?
Milan have one of the best defences. The issue is they can’t score or beat the teams at the bottom.
“How did Bartesaghi cost Milan a lot of points?”
By sleeping on the pitch. Forgetting he was supposed to mark the opponent who scored. We’ve seen plenty of them.
When is this team gonna start settling down. Or when will this lazy ass journalism stop. Everybody is having a field day with Milan…journalist must be thinking if you have nothing to say start dishing up a story on Milan.
Papers in Italy are Pro-Inter, Pro-Juve, Pro-Roma and Anti-Milan. The closest thing Milan had to a favorable news outlet in Italy was when Mediaset and Milan were both owned by Berlusconi.
The media have never liked Milan. Ever.
This multiple management changes hurts the club. This is being one step forward two steps back. It is really bad for the club and as i see it i hope im wrong that this club will never achieve the level to compete with big european clubs anymore. When i see the strong clubs now (e.g Bayern Munchen) from last night and i though about our game against Napoli we really are far far from reality,,,,
Great, exactly what I was saying. I hope Furlani joins him and they can hire 2 professionals that know the job and already won titles. No more bargain hunters that buy 40M players from Belgium that aren’t worth half or Nkunku for 40M. Those 2 signings are criminally bad.
Did you just become an AC Milan fan? When was the last time we paid 80M for a player? What signings do you have in mind? Haaland? FFS.
But they can spend 80mil on two players barely used?
Nkunku 🤔!
I just love all these rage bait articles after losses
one more loss and you’ll get articles like Milan is headed for relegation next season and people here are dumb enough to believe it
We’re selling Leao now. Haven’t you heard?
This article is hot garbage lol
Newspapers have to print something that sells every day.
Truth being behind it is of secondary importance.
IF this is true, it would echo interesting comments made by Conceição last year. Furlani is the snake in the grass and I think Tare can’t really act on his own. We’ve had 4 different coaches, multiple directors or “acting directors” since the Elliot take over. Through out all of that, there seems to be a common behavior pattern, especially with the market. So who has been in control of the money and been there the whole time? Furlani. Who has made at least one terrible waste of money purchase each year that goes against what the coach has asked for? Furlani. So I don’t see anything improving until he leaves. IF this story is true, it would support this theory. Nothing in Tare’s past would suggest that he had anything to do with Nkunku, especially when Allegri directly asked for a classic 9 and it seems he and Tare were on the same page.
Furlani doesn’t buy players that’s not his job tare bought nkunku
Yup…that’s how it’s supposed to work. But he who controls the purse controls the purchases. Clearly Furlani has been making decisions. Maldini referenced it, our former coaches referenced it, it’s the writing on the wall that tells the story not your idealized corporate structure you apply to this Milan. Obviously, things are not running the way they’re supposed to. Tare has not seemed to enjoy his time here so far and clearly Allegri is very confused by the structure of the club, as are the players (Pulisic waiting to sign a deal). Tare does not have 100% control over purchases, and that was made pretty clearly from the start. So you’re lying to yourself or not being honest if you t think Furlani has no role in this mess. I find it very hard to believe that Tare spent all that time in the summer with Allegri and then turned around to purchase Nkunku totally on his own…come on lol
He doesn’t understand that. He thinks Furlani is the one with common sense in our club.
lol apparently. Hopefully Cardinale makes some C-suite changes since he has more control now that Elliott is fully out.
Tare was out of a job for over a year – no matter how little he actually does at Milan, he won’t leave because no one is banging on his door to move.
But this is a larger problem in Italy – idiotic “journalism” if even you can call it that. Everyone piles on to see what sticks. CorDelSerra now running stories Milan wants to sell Leao…
I came across a post of Pato singing praises of Don Carlo for given him opportunity to showcase his talent at Milan but today what we have is completely the opposite. Milan are underpricing real talents and spending lavishly on old, average and injury prone players who have nothing to offer. Eg Christopher Nkunku, Fulkrug, Joao Felix etc…
Odogu, Athekame, Kostic, Jashari even… pensioners, right?
While the two best players in Rabiot and Modric with age and experience cost a combined 10mil…. Spending lavishly.
Right on.
But Furlani for life eh? Sporting directors come and go, results continue to be mediocre, the one constant is Furlani. Ask me where the change needs to be made.
There is no clear structure at Milan atm, its hard to make any assesments because I have no clue who is doing what other then what the news tells us.
As far as I’m conserned it wont matter who we hire as long as that person is not given the tools to operate freely. Its almost like Furlani is using Zlatan and Tare as his personal scouts, as soon as they disagree or want to do something on their own they either get fired or demoted. We need a sporting director in charge and he need to decided. Everthing else is nonsense
Maldini
Where’s the Furlani butt lickers? (Eg, Uberhulk) 😂😂😂
