AC Milan’s sporting director Igli Tare has confirmed that he and the club are planning for a future with Massimiliano Allegri at the centre.
Milan have a huge chance to take a big step towards a top four finish this afternoon against a Verona side that are second-bottom in the table. Napoli and Como lost while Roma drew earlier in the round, meaning that the Rossoneri can pad their lead to fifth place to eight points.

However, they will have to perform a lot better than they did last weekend, when the 4-3-3 experiment from Allegri led to a 3-0 home defeat against Udinese. The 3-5-2 returns this afternoon in Veneto, with the hopes of discovering some solidity while unlocking an attack that is struggling.
Tare spoke to DAZN moments before kick-off in the game between the Rossoneri and the Gialloblu to answer questions about the present and future of Milan, with his words relayed by MilanNews.
There’s been a lot of talk about Allegri and the players. What’s your take?
“There’s no point in talking about this situation now. We need to focus all this energy on our goal, which is the Champions League. Reaching it would mean a lot for the club’s planning and future, so there’s nothing to discuss about Allegri.
“He’s done an excellent job this season, he still has a long contract with this club, and as he said yesterday, he likes to plan ahead, to pursue a major project, and we’re working on this together for the future.”
Is your future linked to Allegri’s?
“I have no worries, and I’m very honest about these situations because they’re part of football. When results aren’t forthcoming, it puts everyone on edge.
“We’re aware of this. The most important thing for us is to achieve all our goals, and once we’ve achieved that, we can all sit down together – Furlani, Ibra and the others – and try to come up with a winning plan for next season.”
How have you spoken with the players in the last few days?
“From here to the end, there are six finals. Today’s is the most important. Maximum respect for this team; they just have to win. We have to put in a great performance and set a clear line right away to win this match and get a significant bonus for the rest of the season.”

Tare did pretty good on his first season. The only 2 ‘sins’ were the Nkunku’s deal and how he handled the Gimenez situation. Management needs to listen to Allegri’s input next season.

You can’t even spell his name. How can I take you seriously? Maybe he is Xaxi Alonso? He failed at Madrid like a child, his experience is 2 years in Germany. That’s it. I’d pass.
