Tare addresses Modric’s future, his own fate and need to shut out external noise

Igi Tare answered questions on his own future at AC Milan as well as that of Luka Modric, with Champions League football crucial.

What did you say to the team today?

“We’ve tried to shut out all these rumours. It happened last week, it happened this week. It’s a crucial match, the one that must lead us to the goal we set at the start of the season. We must celebrate together with our fans.”

What is Modric’s decision to continue linked to?

“I think he’ll stay in the end. He’s a Milan fan, he cares deeply about this team, this club, and he’s very attached to the whole environment. I’m convinced that in the end his choice will be a yes.”

Is your future linked to Champions League qualification?

“Well, I don’t know. We’re paid to get results. As Max said yesterday, it’s important for us all to focus on this goal. If we win tonight, we’ll have achieved what they approached me for at the start of the season. Starting tomorrow, we’ll plan for the future.”
