This morning, Franco Baresi’s funeral took place and Igli Tare spoke about the ceremony, speaking with class as always.
There were several familiar faces at the Basilica of Sant’Ambrogio in Milano this morning. From former players and staff to members of other clubs, such as Juventus’ Frederic Massara and Inter’s Beppe Marotta.

Indeed, the Italian footballing community came to support Baresi, who was laid to rest earlier today. A celebration of his life and a chance to remember the man and footballer which he was.
As you’d imagine, there have been some deeply moving clips from outside the ceremony and it shows how much football – let alone Milan and its Rossoneri – will miss the eternal captain.

Speaking after the eternal captain’s funeral, which he was present at, Tare vowed that his loss would not become something more than partial, as he put it, as MilanNews relays.
“I grew up with Franco Baresi. Having supported him, knowing him in person, and being part of this glorious club has been a great honour for me. But today his loss is only partial because he will remain forever in the hearts of AC Milan fans and the entire world.”
