GdS: Tare already working on Milan’s future with ‘top coach’ the No.1 aim – the names

Marco Rosi / Fotonotizia

Igli Tare has already been working on the future of AC Milan for days now, having received the green light from the club.

Since he received the definitive approval from CEO Giorgio Furlani over a three-year contract, the incoming sporting director has begun work on the future. It is no surprise, given h will be fundamental element in the rebirth of Milan.

The official confirmation of his appointment will arrive in the next few hours, and between tomorrow and Tuesday he will be operational in Milan, in his new office. The former Lazio man has 15 years of experience, but his mission will not be easy.

A top coach for Tare’s new era

La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) report that Milan want a winning coach, Italian or one who knows Serie A very well. One with a top CV that can be an answer to the dissatisfaction of the Rossoneri fan base.

Not a gamble, not an unknown. This is not the time for risks like last summer when the choice was made to go for Paulo Fonseca: the reconstruction must be based on solid foundations because more mistakes are not allowed.

In recent days, the two profiles under the magnifying glass have been Vincenzo Italiano and Massimiliano Allegri. Two coaches with different experience, career successes and ways of understanding football.

However, in the minds of the Rossoneri management, both have what it takes to write a different story than seen in the 2024-25 season. Furlani, Tare and Geoffrey Moncada’s phones are hot because they are evaluating the moves to make and the situation is fluid.

They are evaluating names day after day, waiting to make the final decision soon, because the watchword is not to make errors in judgement, but at the same wasting time is forbidden given the work to do.

Italiano’s comments seem to suggest he is moving towards a renewal with Bologna. While waiting to see if the Karlsruhe coach will really sign the extension in the upcoming meeting with the Rossoblu executives, Allegri is enjoying the weekend in Monte Carlo where the Formula 1 GP is taking place.

Napoli have already sounded him out and – if Antonio Conte leaves the Azzurri bench to return to Juventus – they will knock on Max’s door. The Rossoneri are still in the mix though, a club where Allegri won one of his six Scudetti. Tare respects Max and is also working on this option.

Alternatives

What will happen if neither of them are available? Milan is evaluating other solutions deemed high-profile. Not that of Roberto De Zerbi, given that Olympique Marseille has announced that he will stay after second place and qualification for the Champions League.

Gian Gasperini is negotiating a renewal with Atalanta. Tare likes him, but he risks being untouchable. Roberto Mancini and Thiago Motta remain, returning from unhappy adventures with Saudi Arabia and Juventus.

Next week will probably be the week of choice and perhaps the announcement. The Devils want to start again. They must do it and quickly.

  1. Fonseca got signed because he got CL with Lille and had them playing decent football, how is Italiano any different? He also finished 9th and 28th in the CL league phase.

Italiano would just be a repeat of Fonseca, anyone who doesnt see it just goes on media vibes to make their opinions

    1. Agreed with you.

Italiano is good coach, but not for Milan. This team really need an experienced and very good coach.

Next season we must achieve scudetto again, and back to UCL.

      1. Disagree. Yes he fails in CL but he left any club (yes even Tottenham) with good foundation, seeing Juve and Inter keeps winning after he left. But Max? He is utter rubbish.

      2. So championship is ‘not enough’ for you ? Lol
We are a bitc*azz club now. I will happily take another scudetto lol
We have zero chance in UCL anyway under this owners

  2. Again, no respect for the club, its history, or its fans. Allegri was an ugly breakup with Milan. He played gross football, he fired pirlo only to need him at juve to win grated he didn’t bring pirlo to juve. He talked trash on the milan fans, why bring that dude back after seeing how he left juve recently? They hire him and it’s more of the same.

    1. Pirlo literally wrote in his book that he wanted to bail and go to Barca in 2007 and he didnt like it here and you praise him

These new gen kids dont read history and just pretend to understand it, screw Pirlo there’s a reason he gets booed when he comes here like Dollarumma

      1. Mm I think your conflating a few things. He’s Def said in interviews that he would have been happy to stay at milan past 2011 and felt he had more to give milan but was forced out. That’s years after 2007 so he want to go to Barca to try and win at a dif team since he won everything he could at milan. The team was stale at that point and old. They were reborn after that and he was prepared to stay. So don’t run your mouth, what I said was accurate, especially about allegri, as you didn’t even notice that’s what the post was about.

        1. Lol you werent even born then and you are here defending Pirlo for not respecting the Milan badge enough

he literally said he would’ve crawled to Barcelona if he could, how is that respectful? Screw him.

          1. You are the worst gaslighter on this website and most people realize that except maybe the moderating team as you are constantly attacking everyone you come in contact with your passive aggressive bs.

            SempreMilan article
Pirlo tells his side of the story of his controversial exit “I would have stayed at Milan all my life”

“Pirlo spoke in an interview for Prime Video with Ambrosini and he revealed some of the background on how he ended up leaving Milan for bitter rivals Juventus, with whom he signed on a free transfer and went on to win several trophies.

“They wanted to give me a one-year contract because for players over 30 – like you too, Sandro and Rino, they did one year of contract – they had this way of seeing things. We never agreed on this idea because I wanted to stay there much longer,” he said (via Corriere della Sera).

“We know the tears we shed. I would have stayed at Milan all my life. I left for many reasons but not because I wanted more money or wanted to go elsewhere. I thought I deserved more years of contract being the youngest player. I thought I had the opportunity to be there for another few years.”

Coincidentally your are also present in that article belittling people you are in contact with.

I will nevertheless also agree with the fact that he said he would have left for Madrid at some point but nevertheless stayed at the club for several years more to come.

          2. But i heard another milan fans said the reason why management only gave Pirlo a year contract was because Pirlo’s not performing well and still struggling with teamwork for the last couple years with other midfielder at that time. He wasn’t good enough although we won scudetto at that time

          3. Bs, autobio exaggerates to sell things. Pirlo was a maestro of all conquering Milan. He never had any issue with any of his clubs throughout his illustrious career.

    2. No good player and coach in his right mind is going to join AC Milan as long as the current incompetent buffoons ( Ibra, Cardinale, Furlani, and Moncada) are still managing AC Milan. The only reason why Tare has accepted the job is because he has been out of a job for three years.

We need to force Cardinale to sell the team by starving AC Milan of revenues: no merchandise, no season tickets, no attending home games at San Siro.

With this management next year we will be out of the top 8.

      1. Excellent, starve them of revenue. I am no longer buying Milan merchandise. Leave the stadium empty, Cardinale will then leave because he will lose his no.1 goal which is profit

  3. Better go with Mancini, or even give Frank Rijkaard to rebirth Milan
We still have a lot than Allergy

Conte to expensive for Milan to hire.

Or give it to Abate, even Sacchi and Capello was no one before Milan

At least build a great foundation on our youth player give them opportunity, Bartesaghi, Liberali, we already have Gabbia and Jimenez, ever pobega as MF, we just not believing and competent to build from our youth sector

  4. Please no more coach like Italiano … he finish with Bologna in 9th place…. where he is better then Fonseca or Conceicao?? We need best of the best… only possible names are Sarri, Alegri or Conte… one of those finish in top 4 for sure …. no more experiments with Italiano, De Zerbi or Motta… all of them are mid table coaches…

    1. Yes, agree no italiano. But he is better than Fonse or Conce, who spent millions for transfer. But Bologna sold 2 of their best and still qualify for Europa, yes afteer winning against Milan.

      1. That’s okey , he has a tactics, but yes he finish in Europe just because of cup… in league it’s mean nothings if you are on 9th spot… I don’t think he can make a difference next season

    1. This could be very interesting. I do not think that Allegri and Conte will come although he’d be a great choice. Not really keen on Italiano as he does not fit the “proven coach” profile. In my opinion it’s gonna be either Mancini or Sarri at the end.

  5. Bring experience Coach ,Why always bring man with no champion back ground,Milan no experimental Club ass hole furlani are u stupid or blind with that case again,if 5 year ago we bring just 2 big name on the squad now Andy complete and can challenge title, buy quality not quantity, don’t try to make profit 1st,profit Will follow if u have good achievement

  6. Conte is top coach
    Allegri III don’t know
    Gasperini will be good
    De Zerbi will be good
    Hutter will be good

  7. For me, let’s look outside. We have Xavi, Dr Zerbi
Cesce fabrigas, and some good coach in Germany who can play good football. Maxi was sack by Juv, before motta take over. Motta was also sack too. So Xavi and Dr Zerbi or Reborto Mancini will be better.

  8. NFW @ Conte, he can only win the Series ’A’ we need to bring in Zidane. He’d win both the league and Champions league and the club World Cup!
