Tatarusanu happy with clean sheet and that Milan ‘scored in the key moments’

By Oliver Fisher -

Ciprian Tatarusanu revealed his delight after a ‘beautiful’ night at San Siro in which AC Milan managed to secure progress to the last 16 of the Champions League.

It was the Olivier Giroud show under the lights at a sold out San Siro as he scored a brace and also registered a brace of assists as Milan cruised past Red Bull Salzburg, beating them 4-0 to secure passage into the knockout stages.

Tatarusanu spoke to Milan TV after the game and spoke about his emotions after the win and of course the clean sheet, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

What was it like to win and get through? “Beautiful. When you get through the group after so many years with a win like this, we are all happy.”

You were busy… “My role is to make saves. If I didn’t, I wasn’t here, was I? (smiles).”

On the fans: “There is a good atmosphere at San Siro, the fans are always with us. We scored in the key moments of the match, this led us to victory.”

Are you enjoying the victory now? “We have to celebrate a bit, starting tomorrow we will start working for La Spezia”.

Speaking to Prime Video, Tatarusanu added: “It was an intense game, they are not easy to beat. But I’m happy with the performance, the result is right. My performance? After a 4-0 victory in which you don’t let in a goal, I can only be happy.”
