Tatarusanu insists he feels ‘young’ and makes goal clear: “You can always improve”

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan will take on Bologna in less than 10 minutes and as Mike Maignan is out with an injury, Ciprian Tatarusanu will be the starting goalkeeper once again. He’s yet to convince all of the fans, which perhaps can act as fuel.

Maignan was forced to surgery recently and will thus be out for the remainder of 2021. It’s a big blow for the Rossoneri as the Frenchman had started very well, while Tatarusanu isn’t exactly on the same level.

However, the 35-year-old is very experienced and will have yet another chance to prove himself this evening. Prior to tonight’s game, he spoke to DAZN (via MilanNews) about the game and hitting a personal record.

It’s your 150th appearance in the top 5 European championships, what’s going on in your head?

“In football, you can always improve. Even though I’m 35 I feel young and very well, I hope to do even better.”

What team is Bologna?

“They are a difficult team, Dall’Ara is always a difficult field. We will try to do our best and bring home the victory,” he concluded.

Milan have brought in Antonio Mirante on a free transfer so Tatarusanu will have to be on his best game to keep his starting spot. It remains to be seen if he can succeed with this.
