Tatarusanu’s discoverer insists goalkeeper is ‘an exemplary professional’; reveals his biggest strengths

By Nikita Fesyukov -

From tonight in Milan-Verona the Rossoneri will forcibly rely on Ciprian Tatarusanu due to the long-term injury of Mike Maignan.

The backup goalkeeper will replace the Frenchman, who had to undergo a wrist operation after returning from the international break and will thus likely miss the rest of the year.

The Romanian goalkeeper will fight for the spot of the starting goalkeeper with new arrival Antonio Mirante, who, however, is not yet fit enough for match action and thus was not included in the squad for tonight’s match against Verona.

In this context and specific moment for Tatarusanu, who will have to show off his qualities in a difficult situation for Milan, Gazzetta dello Sport (via milanlive.it) contacted the goalkeeper’s discoverer, Eduardo Macia, a well-known scout who brought Tatarusanu to Fiorentina several years ago.

“He is an exemplary professional, serious and precise. His main quality is that he is calm and never gets under pressure. He has a great mental balance, no ups and downs. I chose him for his personality. His technical skills were known to all, ” he said.

Macia also spoke about how Tatarusanu will be able to contribute for Milan now that he is the de facto starting goalkeeper for several weeks.

“He will transmit serenity and safety to his teammates, he reads the situations and speaks to the defenders clearly. I am happy to see him in the starting position and I am sure he will show off his qualities. He will give a bang hand to the team,” he concluded.
