AC Milan have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Florian Thauvin as the winger could still renew with Marseille, a report claims.
The Rossoneri have been repeatedly linked with a move for Thauvin by a number of sources both in Italy and in France since the summer transfer window, with suggestions that the management are very keen on securing him when his contract expires in June 2021.
According to what is being reported by Telefoot (via MilanLive), a new scenario has emerged that would put all the teams interested in Thauvin in difficulty, including Milan.
The French broadcaster believes that Marseille have a chance of securing the renewal of Thauvin as the Ligue 1 club are trying to reopen the conversation and this time the player, together with his entourage, have not dismissed the idea.
It could lead Thauvin to renew with the club and continue his career in Ligue 1, but Milan remain at the window and awaits news.
