Telefoot: Milan prepare offer for defender as Leicester saw €28m bid rejected

By Isak Möller -

As Leo Duarte has failed to impress during pre-season, and with Mateo Musacchio still injured, Milan need to bring in a centre-back. They are ready to make an attempt for one of their targets, a report claims.

According to Telefoot, the Rossoneri are back in the race for Saint-Etienne starlet Wesley Fofana. The 19-year-old seemed destined to join Leicester last week as he even stated that he would be ‘crazy’ to reject an offer from the English side.

“I would be crazy to say no to Leicester. This contract could change my life. I need to protect my family by keeping them safe. The financial and sporting aspects have aligned, I am forced to say yes,” he told L’Equipe (via GetFootballNewsFrance).

However, per the report, Leicester’s offer of €28m plus bonuses was rejected by the Ligue 1 side and nothing has happened since. Therefore, Milan are now preparing to make an offer for the centre-back, which should arrive at Saint-Etienne very soon.

Fofana certainly fits the Rossoneri’s project, as Elliott Management are keen on building the future with talented and young players. Sandro Tonali is a great example of this and it remains to be seen if the Frenchman will be signed as well.
