Telegraph: West Ham have two Milan candidates on list of Moyes replacements

By Oliver Fisher -

David Moyes must turn around West Ham United’s form or he potentially risks losing his job before the season ends, and two Milan-linked bosses are on the list to replace him.

According to what is being reported by The Telegraph, results are expected from Moyes or West Ham could consider sacking him before the campaign ends, but at the very least they would be geared towards making a change in time for 2024-25.

There were thousands of fans who left the London Stadium before half-time during the 6-0 hiding against Arsenal last weekend, and if the Hammers were to lose to struggling Nottingham Forest this weekend then calls to sack him would grow.

Who might replace him? The report claims that West Ham chiefs might try make Graham Potter his successor, despite the 48-year-old’s difficult spell at Chelsea.

However, they also state that Potter is potentially on the list of Milan and has been mentioned as a contender to take over at Ajax in the Eredivisie too.

The other currently out of work managers that the London club could consider are Julen Lopetegui – who is also a possibility for Milan – as well as Steve Cooper and Oliver Glasner.

  1. Who cares.

Has anyone checked the Serie A table recently and seen where Bologna is positioned? It’s remarkable.

I don’t even believe that we need to move Pioli on at the end of the season because it has anything to do with Pioli.

Motta is simply looming as such an unbelievable candidate I am not sure we can justify not moving heaven and earth to make him our coach at the end of the season. Unfortunately that is the timeline we have been given to work it.

His system of play is bullet proof, limited only by the lack of quality. The results are off the charts for a squad of that quality. He has dramatically improved everyone at Bologna, from 21 year old left backs who are now centre backs, to a 22 year old strikers who was basically the punch line of jokes through to 30 year old mids who are revitalised.

Motta is that perfect balance of old school pragmatism and new school possession based dominance. The only other guy who is doing something on Motta’s level is Xabi Alonso and he may well exceed Motta as a prospect. However, I do not believe there is any realistic prospect he will coach Milan.
