Tempers have grown amongst fans of AC Milan with the Ultras choosing to arrive 15 minutes late to the Curva Sud in the match against Lazio last weekend in an act of defiance against the club.
Fans are unhappy as results have not gone their way over the last few weeks. For example, seeing the Rossoneri bundled out of the Champions League to Feyenoord and lose both Serie A fixtures following this – topping off a miserably mediocre season to date.
The appointment of Conceicao in December had improved the club’s form in the first few months of 2025, but the team have yet again hit bumps along the road in recent weeks and are set to have a real challenge on their hands to get back into that top 4 finish.
The result against Feynoord was disastrous, reflecting the full Champions League campaign this year, where several crypto sports betting sites did not have Milan in favourable odds going into the second leg tie at the San Siro: it’s like the Red and Blacks were almost destined to crash out the competition to what many would see as inferior competition.
Fans are advising the club to have a long, hard look at itself before the 2025-26 season commences to place themselves back in amongst European royalty where they believe they rightfully belong.
The January signings of some big names may see Milan bounce back on track and push forward for those important Champions League spots on offer, but is it too little too late? With only 1 of the signings looking to be set to start in the important game against Lazio on Sunday, it seems like things haven’t changed all that much.
However, one saving grace of this season has been the team’s form at the San Siro, which has been pretty formidable. Having not lost a home game in 2025, they have kept a glimmer of hope in the San Siro and they are odds on to pip Lazio to the post and continue this glory in the upcoming match.
It had seemed that the English influence on the Milan team, with Kyle Walker arriving to aid compatriots Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Tammy Abraham, and Fikayo Timori, may help them boost their league position.
However, they have all been omitted from the starting line-up for the crucial game against Lazio. Walker and Loftus-Cheek are currently injured, but the latter pair was benched as Conceicao favours others in the team.
Drama may well be brewing off the pitch for Walker, with rumours that he was spotted with two other women following his family’s first visit to Milan after his move. With such rumours circulating off the pitch, will this experienced and crucial player be able to use his talent to help his teammates earn some points?
The constant changing of teams has been a fixture of this current AC Milan team has been met with some scorn from fans who don’t know what team they are getting for the vast majority of the season however as the team shapes up against Lazio, the Portuguese manager is due to start with Maignan, Hernandez and Reijnders yet again who have not missed a game since Conceicao took the reigns.
The fans are calling for a ‘deep reset’ of the club, which may have to start right here if the team has any chance of getting back into that top 4 spot. The odds are getting slimmer and slimmer as the team marches on with bad results in this campaign. For any sort of redemption, they will need a big win against Lazio to kick start their pursuit.
