CM: Terms agreed and Newcastle snubbed – Milan want to close €30m deal within 15 days

AC Milan have accelerated their pursuit of Sven Botman and they are hoping to close the deal within the next fortnight, according to a report.

According to Calciomercato.com, Botman has chosen to join Milan in the summer over the other clubs who are interested in him and there is a verbal agreement in place over a five-year contract that he will sign when the Rossoneri strike a deal with Lille.

An important role was played by Mike Maignan who spoke to his former team-mate about what playing for Milan is like, and though Newcastle have tried in every way to convince Botman he does not want to go back on his choice and he already has his next step decided.

Milan plan to definitively close the deal with Lille for around €30m plus bonuses in the next 15 days. Despite the revenues obtained from their run to the last 16 of the Champions League, the Ligue 1 club need to raise money.

Botman could also be followed by his team-mate Renato Sanches with Milan awaiting a definitive reply from the player and his entourage, the report adds.
