The Sun: Sheffield United to ask about signing Milan forward on loan

Sheffield United are looking to add a new striker before the window closes and they have set their sights on Divock Origi, a report claims.

It is now known that Milan do not see Origi as a part of their plans moving forward because he was left out of the USA tour and has not featured in any of the preseason friendlies, while he continues to train alone at Milanello too.

Sheffield Untied meanwhile have lost Iliman Ndiaye to Marseille and both Oli McBurnie and Rhian Brewster are currently sidelined with injuries.

According to The Sun, the Blades will ask for Origi on loan, offering him the return to the Premier League that he seems to want.

The Belgian has struggled since joining the Rossoneri scoring just twice last season but he knows England well, having netted in six Merseyside derbies for England and in the Champions League semi-final and final.

Now, the 28-year-old must make a decision on whether to return to the north of England, and of course Milan must be open to the idea of a loan.

  1. How long is Origi’s contract?

Could we get say a €1mn loan fee for him? If so this is a great deal for us, hopefully he does well they redeem him for €5mn+ next summer.

Tho Origi rates himself so highly he probably only accept a move to Man City or Barca

  2. He contracts runs untill 2026.
If they cover his 4 mill salary that is bingo for Milan.
He might redeem himself there or he can be sold in next year…

  3. Trust the s*n as a source as much as I’d trust a shark not to bite my bleeding leg off. Hateful publication that does nothing but lie.

  4. CDK – Scores off bench in his debut game LOLOLOLOLOLO.

Have a feeling all the Maldini haters who blamed this transfer solely on him (as if Moncada had nothing to do with it) and who said CDK is trash – are going to have serious EGG on their faces after this season. One game yes but Gasparini is the right coach to bring out the best in talented players.

Can’t wait to see how this plays out and man if he scores against us – YIKES – LOL

    1. They will soon come after you man, they see everything wrong in the last mercato without actually questioning the man on the bench who has little or no idea on how to manage young and upcoming players. The players we had last season were not as bad as people portray them to be. I remember when Klopp took over at Liverpool FC, the same trash players he met at the club was what he worked with and still made the Europa league final and even managed to qualify for the champions league even when the previous manager failed woefully. Give CDK, Aster Vranckx, and even krunic to a better coach and see what happens. If we had a more decent coach than Pioli we wouldn’t have lost four consecutive times in one season to our arch-rival inter Milan. I’m not saying he’s the worst coach in the world, but certainly not the best for Milan standard because he had all the support and motivation from the fans, Maldini, Ibra and all others. We deserve more I swear… CDK scoring in his first match at Atalanta is so painful because we all saw it coming and I bet he might even do well in that club because the talent is there.
Just waiting for Pioli attack dogs to start raining insults right now…
      Forza Milan 💪💪💪

      1. @Elegant I think Pioli is one of Milan’s best coaches of all time imo and by stats, and I’m always thankful and glad for his contributions to our history. I still think we can’t find any better right now so we have to stick with him. But there seems to be a disconnect with the players he’s getting and how they’re progressing. Last year he only played the young players when he has no choice but to. He only played Adli when the midfield went bare, same with Vranckx….who btw was Belgium U20 captain. Even Thiaw came on when there was an emergency and did well with the clearing tackle the first game in. After a couple games he played so well that there’s no way he had a reason to keep him out. I don’t know if its a trust issue or if he still doesn’t get the players he wants or he gets the players only to realize they can’t fit his system or methods. It’s baffling me and this season he doesn’t have time.
