Theo Hernandez’s agent Manuel Garcia Quilon has lashed out at some of the rumours circulating regarding his client, claiming the reports about demanding a huge salary from AC Milan are wide of the mark.

Wednesday morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport spoke of ‘the great frost’ involving Theo, claiming that the defender has asked for €8m net per season plus bonuses to renew with Milan, but is not convincing the management with his performances and his behaviour more recently.

During the press conference to present Youssouf Fofana just over a month ago, Zlatan Ibrahimovic reassured everyone by saying that the club and the player knew what they wanted, but since then there hasn’t been much in the way of concrete developments.

Now, his agent Manuel Garcia Quilon has spoken to TeleLombardia programme QSVS and has revealed what the actual truth is regarding the negotiations and the stories circulating.

“There is no negotiation, we haven’t talked about anything for four months, since May-June. The club contacted me, asked if we wanted to remain and if we were happy at Milan. We said yes, then there was no further contact. We have not received any offer from the club,” he said (via Football Italia).

“Someone is spreading these rumours to force public opinion against him. Football is football, it all moves very quickly. Every day things change for a thousand details. I can say today that Theo’s main idea is to continue at Milan, reach an agreement and stay at the club for as long as possible.

“What will happen in a year’s time? I don’t know. I don’t want to lie to you, because I really just don’t know. If he reaches an agreement and extends his contract, then it’s not an issue.

“If he doesn’t sign a new contract, what happens? I don’t like to lie, I don’t know what could happen, but the idea right now is that Theo is happy at Milan.”

  1. He seems a good agent, straight forward and honest.

The club seems to be f_cking about on this renewal.

Regardless of recent issues, this needs to be sorted as a priority

    1. Not sure we can believe him. I mean, first, he’s an agent. Second, wtf is that story…

      1) Milan asks if Théo will stay and is happy, he says yes
      2) Zlatan then says that Theo will stay and is happy
      3) Théo says that he could leave the club

      Makes no sense at all.

  2. Regardless of what one thinks of Theo’s behaviour, the issue regarding his renewal has to be sorted out as quickly as possible and ideally with him renewing.
Now I think I agree with Bart a bit, this story seems fishy and nothing makes sense here.
