Theo Hernandez’s agent confirms desire to ‘stay at Milan’ and renew deal

Theo Hernandez’s agent Manuel Garcia Quilon has confirmed that his client intends to stay at AC Milan and renew his contract.

The Frenchman was left out of the starting line-up for last night’s 0-0 draw against Genoa with the teenager Alex Jimenez getting the nod instead. It came amid a difficult moment for Theo, who is struggling with his form on the field under Paulo Fonseca so far.

Given that his contract expires in June 2026 there has also been talk of a natural crossroads emerging regarding his Milan future. A report earlier today spoke of his agent arriving in Italy for a meeting with the management about the situation related to the former Real Madrid man.

Quilon arrived at Casa Milan for said meeting and he spoke to the various reporters that were outside awaiting him, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

How did the meeting go?

“It was a meeting on fiscal issues, on the fiscal situation between Spain and Italy.”

Has there been any talk of renewal?

“No. It’s a topic that’s there. We’ll talk about it when the time comes.”

Yesterday Theo was on the bench…

“It’s not a decision that Theo has to make. Maximum respect for the decision. He has the utmost respect for his teammates and his team-mates respect him. Leao also sat on the bench this year.”

Does Theo want to stay at Milan?

“Reality has not changed and the truth has always shown it, it cannot be changed. Our will is clear and it is to stay. Theo wants to stay at Milan, he wants to renew with Milan.”

  1. Why is there always a confirmation of this “desire to remain” and yet we’ve seen no movement on a renewal? If he really desires to remain all of this would have been concluded already. Either he would sign the renewal for 5-6M, or he’d say something along the lines of “I wanted to remain, but we were unable to reach an agreement” and then everyone could move on. We’d know for sure he’s leaving in the summer, and he would know for sure, and he could get down to the business of the season while the club got on with the business of replacing him.

    1. If you had the opportunity to earn significantly higher money at a different employer why wouldn’t you expect the same or at least close to from your current employer?

Its silly to think that these players should accept 1-2m less than they would elsehwere because we expect loyalty.

      1. It’s a fan thing. They expect loyalty from a player and to keep quiet and work.

But they don’t always give said loyalty back. Quite the paradox

      2. That’s not my point. My point is that if Theo want’s 8M per year then so be it, and he state that to the club and the club will then say no, and then the negotiation would be over, Theo would get sold whenever and life goes on. Instead the agent says there is a “desire to remain”. Either there is a desire to remain, and he will reach a compromise, or he won’t compromise and hold out for 8M from someone else, but then you can’t say “there is a desire to remain”. That implies there is room for compromise. Simple as that. I have no problem with Theo or any other player asking for whatever they want. He knows what the club has been offering for a while now.

      3. Loyalty? No one expects that. If everything in life is great why risk it for a minor increase in salary. Yes, 1-2M€ is a minor increase for millionaires as it would change nothing.

That’s in general. But in Theo’s case we know that “everything is NOT great”. Why? Who knows. Maybe he IS sad about the money he’s missing out on because he wasn’t sold to a richer club. Maybe he wants to win trophies.

Loyalty. Lame excuse to bash fellow fans.

  2. I think in next season, we can sell Theo, all loaned players, and some flops from this year, and without Europe games still be positive on balance sheets.

This is something to think about

  3. No wonder why we’re in this mess if even the fans themselves loves the turnover. We can’t have stability when ppl want clearly a world class player who has put in work to just leave the minute his form drops. 4 months ago this wasnt him. We have 3-4 world class players or along those lines and he’s one of them. Y’all have the wrong guy, Theo is not the one undermining the season. That’s management hiring a weak @$$ coach. The collateral damage are just the players and the league table.

    1. Don’t talk too much and try to make people see sense. Let Theo leaves, we all will will feel. It.

It’s has become a constant drabble with Milan. A sorely needed character Milan needs is sent away and some fans celebrate saying good riddance, while other sensible ones see the error in it. And then time vindicated the character.

It happened with Kessie, Maldini Snr, CDK, Tonali, Adli, Kalulu, Simic,

When it happens with Theo who has been phenomenal all these seasons then we would see what happens then.

    2. Theo is 100% the person undermining this season by undermining the coach. Whether it was the cooling break incident, the penalty taking incident which directly cost us 3 points, his getting suspended for 2 games for arguing with the refs, or just his general lack of effort on the pitch.
Milan didn’t hire a weak coach, they hired a strong coach that won’t let him get away with that sh!t.

      1. A not so wise person once said not to make judgments a third was through the season. Well it’s past a third coming to almost half way. Please let us know when we can make judgements oh wise one. And just reas.sure us that we’ll make top 4 easily with this coach 😅
