Theo Hernandez talks hair, speed, junk food habits, Theo Jr. and his brother – video

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez has lifted the lid on some of the aspects related to life away from the football field, including becoming a father and what he likes to eat after games.

The full-back is back at Milanello after enjoying a vacation, and a behind-the-scenes video from training that was released yesterday showed that he has decided to return to training with a very interesting new haircut.

Theo gave an interview to The Pitch which was actually recorded before the European Championship but only posted yesterday, and his comments were relayed by PianetaMilan.

Tell us about your speed…

“I’ve always had it, even as a child I was fast and I think it’s my mother who gave me this thing. I think you can train it, but speed is also genetic.”

And your hair…

“I change every now and then, I like to change and have one color or another. For the European Championship I haven’t thought about anything, but we’ll find out soon what I’ll do.”

What is your relationship like with your brother, Lucas?

“We are both strong. We have a very good relationship, I talk to him every day, we write to each other. It’s a shame he hurt his knee, but sometimes I go to see him in Paris or he comes here to Milan. We have an incredible relationship.”

Tell us about Theo Jr…

“He changed my life, especially as a person. Now that I’ve been a father for two years it’s incredible. He already likes football, he throws tantrums and everything else. He’s worse than his dad.”

And your tattoos…

“I like them, I have some of my family’s names and I have my son’s name. I do them because I like them a lot and my wife has a lot of them too.”

Finally, your nutrition…

“Yes, I like junk food after games. I eat pizza and hamburgers, it’s good for my body after the effort. Italian or French food? Both. I eat well after training: carbohydrates, fish and meat. When we have days off I like to eat.”
