Theo Hernandez is now open to the idea of joining Al-Hilal and the operation with AC Milan is expected to be completed.
Al-Hilal and Milan are believed to have agreed a deal worth around €35m for the Frenchman, bonuses included. However, Theo apparently rejected the move, hoping to get a top European club with Atletico Madrid establishing themselves as a candidate.
Atletico decided to walk away from the negotiating table and instead turned to other targets and everything went quiet with regards to Theo. That is until tonight, with a big new development.
Theo does U-turn
Gianluca Di Marzio posted: “Theo Hernandez opens up to Al Hilal: the deal can now go through.” He provides a bit of further information on his website.
For the first time the full-back has given signs of a real and concrete opening towards the Saudi club. In the next few days the operation could come to life.
The player is evaluating this possibility and has opened up to negotiations. The parties will have to find an agreement and total understanding, but the signals from the player are there for an opening.
As a reminder, there was a meeting between Federico Pastorello and the Milan management at Casa Milan concluded on Wednesday evening.
The well-known agent today took on the role of intermediary on behalf of Al-Hilal, trying to convince Theo, and it might just have worked.
No important club in Europe wants him so it’s obvious what they think about him. He’s irrelevant , in big decline of his career. He gather now the “fruits” of his unprofessional behavior. If he is smart enough , he will accept this offer from Al Hilal. At least he will make important money for the rest of his life.

I liked Theo as a player. But the detractors here are correct. His immaturity, lack of progression, and at times lack of effort, have worn out his welcome.

Funny that you mention Ibra. I was at his last game. Lots of emotion, fans crying, Ibra crying, Tonali crying. Maldini side by side with Brutus Furlani. Everything derailed from there. Now everything is cold, business oriented, with a management of bullies. Like owner like fans. There is no pleasure to root for this club anymore, only pain.

I fully hate last season version of Theo. But nevertheless, it’s so sad to see him go like this. Can’t help to think that he’s considering the Saudi move also for the good of Milan (economical aspect). Just like when Tonali said his transfer would also help Milan in terms of the financial side.
Really hope this doesn’t go through, would be such a shame to see a player of his talent waste away like that, in a World Cup year. If we can’t sell to a top team outside Italy, I’d rather he stayed and completed the redemption arc with a great season.
