Tonight will mark a first for the Hernandez family as Theo will face his brother Lucas for the first time in AC Milan’s game against Paris Saint-Germain.
As mentioned, the two have never crossed paths before: when Lucas played for Atlético Madrid, Theo did not have the opportunity to meet his brother neither during his loan at Alavés (2016-17) nor when he wore the shirt of Real Madrid (2017-18) nor during his loan to Real Sociedad (2018-2019).
Thus, tonight they will join the list of brothers who have faced each other in Europe. Three weeks ago it was the Mac Allisters’ turn (Alexis for Liverpool, Kevin for Union Saint-Gilloise) in the Europa League.
In 2017 it was the turn of Florentin and Paul Pogba, who faced each other in the double match between Manchester United and Saint-Étienne in the round of 32 of the Europa League.
It will be a truly special evening for the Hernandez family and the mother of Theo and Lucas issued a comment to the French newspaper L’Equipe about what it will mean.
“It will be the first time in Paris, and moreover in the Champions League. When I see them with the French team, I’m already stressed… But, as usual, the my only wish is that they don’t get hurt,” she said (via MilanNews).
