Atletico Madrid are not giving up on the idea of bringing Theo Hernandez back, but there is a distance with AC Milan over his valuation.
Earlier in the week, it was reported that Milan and Al-Hilal had agreed a deal for Theo worth around €35m but he rejected the idea of a move to Saudi Arabia that would have got him an €18m per year contract.
Instead, the Frenchman hopes to get a top European club and this is where Atletico Madrid entered the scene. Sky claimed that they offered up Nahuel Molina as a counterpart in an exchange deal, which didn’t convince Igli Tare and co.
Atletico pushing for Theo
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Atleti still want Theo and are ‘continuing to press for him’, but Milan are not opening up to any kind of an operation that includes them getting a player in return.

The cash offer that the Spaniards have put on the table is still one that the Rossoneri consider low. Furthermore, given that Milan only want money, they will have to raise it or things will dissipate quickly.
The Frenchman prefers the idea of joining Atletico to Al-Hilal but there is the risk of a real impasse developing unless the valuation Milan have set – around €30m, based on the accepted Saudi bid – is met.
They need an extension to stand firm on any price. At this point, we are in a loose loose situation. A replacement will be no better nor less expensive. He will walk and you still have to spend more than keeping him, while introducing more risks.
40 million deal and hope he gets back on top of his game is their best option. At his age, he will have little resale value after the contract comes to term. They won’t see a gain at his position. They had to reinforce it 3 to 4 years ago with a backup that could learn from him and intergrate into the team. A capable player will command at least a 30 to 40 million dollar fee plus wages. They have to hope that player adapts to the club and Serie A. That will take time. So inherently you risk CL money as well. Most importantly, your reputation among your current players.
Tijjani is gone, Mike hasn’t signed. Theo either. There was a high and unsuccessful turnover last few years. They dropped the ball hard. Their bare minimum approach has come to bite them in the backside.
“They need an extension to stand firm on any price.”
LOL. Nope! They can’t sell him even now with his 4,5M€ salary. Imagine how impossible it would be if he got a raise! Al-Hilal is the only one who have made an official bid. No one else! Not Bayer, not Real, not anyone. No one is willing to pay even 20M€ for him so imagine Milan extending him and asking for 50-60M€! 😀
Just sell him to Atletico for whatever money.
Just remember a phrase ‘start with whom want to fight sweet for the shirt’

Descamp has threat maignan and theo.
Descamp: “it is hard to choose them if they don’t play in european competition.”
Look like maignan and theo will be gone. The question is who will be the replacement?
Of theo go to al hilal, he can kiss good bye to world cup 2026.
