Yesterday, AC Milan lost their Serie A opener, and Theo Hernandez, again, was at the heart of a bit of controversy, despite the fact that he has now left.
This summer, with Theo departing, there has always been a bit of a strange feeling with his posts on social media. When his exit was confirmed, he posted a dig towards the management, and then he was seen rocking a Paolo Maldini shirt later on.

Before the game against Cremonese, he tweeted a message to his former team, even attaching a hashtag for ‘memories’ and ‘SempreMilan’.
“All the best for the 2025/26 Serie A season, AC Milan.”
After the loss, though, he put a story on Instagram, simply a waving emoji and a wink, as can be seen below.
It could be a complete coincidence, but it does not offer much other than a weird feeling of bitterness. If it were a first this summer, it may have been different.
However, it is another occasion where Milan fans are left questioning someone who often wore the captain’s armband last summer and was questioned for his maturity. Perhaps a coincidence, or maybe this is just another sign why the Rossoneri decided to part.
Ben Dixon is this a joke? Maybe he posted this because of the Boniface transfer failed? Or because Allegri didn’t play Ricci? Or maybe you made up the most stupid thing ever to write an article?
To me with that emoji it looks like he is saying “call me if you need a upgrade” lol. Our left side look terrible without him.

He was terrible defensively, so was Estupiñán. Estupiñán assisted on the only goal Milan scored yesterday. So where would he upgrade the left side?

Allegri should have kept Theo and converted him to a LM or LW.
They gave up too easily. Our left side without leaving now looks like a mid table team.
I wanted to see what Allegri would have done with him. I think his defending would have improved but his attacking traits still kept. It’s easy to give up on a player under this management. We see that in how they operate. They shun their own signings after 6 months. Can’t run a club like that
As a forward, he would make more sense on the right-side. I don’t think that would have worked great though, one of his biggest strengths was powering through a midfield struggling to keep up with him in transition; starting higher up means he’d need more intricacy to his play. Might have worked but I have doubts.
