Two Brazilian stars have expressed their admiration for former AC Milan player and current director Paolo Maldini today.
Maldini is a source of inspiration for all generations and from his farewell in 2009 to today, there are still many former team-mates and other players who speak of him in the most complimentary way.
Today, two Brazilians expressed their admiration for Maldini and one is Ronaldinho, who was interviewed by ESPN Mexico and was asked for his opinion on the best defender of all time.
“For me Paolo Maldini has always been the best defender that has ever existed around and I was lucky enough to play with him. Today for me he is a great friend, and it is an immense joy because he has always been a real idol for me,” he said (via SempreMilan.it).
Another great player from Brazil who spent time at Milanello is Thiago Silva, and on every occasion he gets chance he never fails to mention how much love he has for his first Italian mentor in Maldini. He spoke to the official Chelsea channel.
“I hope to do as Maldini did at Milan: play up to 40-41 years. It is my plan for the immediate future and I am preparing for it,” he said.
It seems that Maldini is always in the minds of every ambitious player and it is perhaps no coincidence therefore that he continues to show his immense understanding of the game and his love for Milan as a director, helping to transform the Rossoneri’s fortunes.
