Reports: Thiago Silva could return to Milan in 2026 – the solution to bring him home

AC Milan are, according to reports, considering a wildly ambitious move to bring Thiago Silva back to Italy next year.

There have been questions about Milan’s defence for a while, and the biggest issue has been a lack of experience. When you think of a Massimiliano Allegri defence, this is normally where you start; look at Giorgio Chiellini, for example.

Fikayo Tomori is the most senior member of the backline, which is not a bad thing, considering he is very experienced in Serie A. However, the fact that at 27 he is the oldest says quite a bit. In other words, some older heads would not go amiss.

Thiago Silva: The return?

David Odogu arrived on deadline day, and he probably will not be the solution that many had hoped for, with the greatest respect. Perhaps, he will. However, that faith is not there just yet, and it seems the Rossoneri seem to know they needed more.

Well, this is where the January mercato could be big. As MilanNews24 relay, the Rossoneri are considering a move for Thiago Silva in January, as is being reported by outlets in Brazil.

His deal with Fluminense runs until June, but the Diavolo could make a move to add some experience to their backline. At present, the idea is a six-month deal until June 2026, and then it could be extended for another season.

Luka Modric is already proving that age matters little when quality is present, and maybe the Brazilian could further solidify that idea.

  1. Get Kaka back!!!! I mean I like Silva but this should have been done in July, not January if they knew they will be cheap. And they knew it.

  2. While at it, could we get Inzagi to pull-up too? Ronaldinho would be a great addition too he can add flair and fluidity to our game.

    Clowns

  3. He could still do a job. Someone like him in the dressing room as we’ve seen with ibras return and the experience of kjaer. It transformed us then it can work again. I’m all for it

  4. My first thought was; interesting what about Zlatan then, and in what managerial position?

    Then I read the article…..

I, for one, do not look forward to the season or the next revolution next Summer.

  5. The simplest thing to do here is the Americans to swallow their pride and accept their mistakes by bringing back Maldini.

Well bringing back T. Silva will leave many indifferent. We are sure he can bring stability and order into the backline. He can also instruct but defenders like him aren’t made anymore. They should have brought him in this summer, rather than January if true. That would be the most sensible thing to do.
