Thiago Silva believes Loftus-Cheek and Pulisic will do ‘very well’ at Milan

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been announced by AC Milan and Christian Pulisic is just one step away from the club. Present at the Formula 1 GP today, Chelsea defender and former Rossoneri man Thiago Silva spoke about the two players.

Thiago Silva played for Milan between 2009 and 2012 before joining Paris Saint-Germain along with Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Currently, he’s at Chelsea and he certainly knows a lot about Loftus-Cheek and Pulisic.

Interviewed by Sky Sport, as cited by Pasquale La Ragione, Silva was asked about the imminent move of Pulisic to Milan. The defender said that he expects both the American and Loftus-Cheek to do very well at the club.

“Pulisic is a great guy and he’s a fantastic player. Last year, he had few chances. At Milan, he will certainly do very well, just like Loftus-Cheek,” he stated.

Loftus-Cheek arrived for €20m including bonuses and Milan have reached an agreement with Chelsea for Pulisic at €20m plus bonuses. The Rossonerr are hoping that both can blossom after struggling to get playing time in London.

  1. I’d love to get him back for a season or 2 to close out his career at home. Our defense can benefit from someone who can transfer the generational knowledge Nesta got from Baresi and Maldini to pass on to him. No coincidence our team went downhill when our identity was sold away to PSG and returned with Ibra. I strongly believe the culture and values being engrained on the field by predecessors. The psychology of having the best to do it in front of you offers invaluable experience to learn from. No better way than by show and prove.

I am aware of his age, Nesta shut down Messi in his prime, against one of the greatest teams at their best while he, and others were on the downswing. He was the general of our backline with his instructions for Thiago to carry out. Some things can only be internalized by being in the mix and action with the best of the best.

    1. It’s so depressing that only us Milan fans remember how Messi had literally no answer for Nesta on that night and that was prime Messi.. Also defending got way worse that it was back in the day… I mean Virgil van Dijk would be a bench warmer in any of top 4 clubs in Italiy during the 2000’s…
