Thiaw discusses Bologna clash and new signings: “We have had plenty of time”

By Isak Möller -

Ahead of tonight’s clash between AC Milan and Bologna, Malick Thiaw shared his thoughts on the season opener and the Rossoneri’s form. He was also asked about the many new players that have arrived.

Milan’s first game of the season is less than 30 minutes away and Bologna are the opponents, hosting the Rossoneri at Renato Dall’Ara. As their rivals have started well, Stefano Pioli’s men will be aiming to take home the three points as well.

Speaking to MilanTV ahead of the game, as cited by MilanNews, Thiaw shared his thoughts on the Rossoneri’s situation. He also spoke about the new arrivals, stating that they have had enough time to gel.

How are you and Milan?

“I’m fine and the team is fine. We’re happy for the season to start again, we can’t wait.”

On the new Milan…

A lot of new players have arrived and many have left. But I think we have had plenty of time to get to know each other. We haven’t always been perfect but we have had a good pre-season. We have a great squad and we can fight for the top positions.”

On the league…

“It’s always difficult in Italy. We know that Bologna are strong but we are strong too, we have to focus on ourselves and do our best.”

Thiaw plays from start in the heart of the defence along with Fikayo Tomori. The two struggled slightly during the pre-season and will have to show the manager that this won’t be the case during the season.
