AC Milan defender Malick Thiaw has revealed that his idol growing up was not actually a centre-back but rather a midfielder.
Thiaw spoke in the first part of the ‘Get to know the Rossoneri’ series that was published on Milan’s Twitter account in collaboration with club partner Sorare Sport, and he was asked a few questions about life on and off the field.
Who’s your favourite Milan legend?
“Ronaldinho.”
Did you have a football idol growing up?
“When I grew up, my football idol was Yaya Touré, because I was a midfield player before when I was young and I just liked him, his play style.”
Are you a collector of anything?
“Yes, I like sneakers.”
Do you ever think about how your performances impact the Sorare managers who own your card?
“Yes of course, sometimes you get some messages that say: ‘Try to do your best’.”
