Malick Thiaw is set to become AC Milan’s latest signing and he is set to cost the Rossoneri at least €7 million, a report claims.
As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the transfer fee for the German defender who is joining from Bundesliga side Schalke 04 is set to be €7m and then there will also be some bonuses to pay in due course.
He is at La Madonnina this morning to undergo his medical examinations and he will then put pen to paper on a contract that runs for five years and will see him earn €800,000 per season.
Standing at 1.94 metres tall, he is set to become the second tallest outfield player in the team behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Ciprian Tatarasanu is the tallest player overall.
The 21-year-old has been a key part of the Schalke first team for over a year and Milan feel that he can bring the necessary depth to the defence.
Malick Thiaw in, so Fode Ballo Toure must be out for Defence Department. It means Kalulu will fight for RB with Calabria (back to his preferred position), Florenzi will fight with Theo for LB. Because Florenzi was pretty good to play at LB last season and even kick Fode Ballo Toure out when Theo cant play.
Calabria has a pretty big burden this season : Act as a captain & fight for place with a wonderkid (Kalulu), who was did so well lately. I hope Calabria will grow a lot again this season and become one of the best RB in the world (a long way to go).
Its good to have this towering CB, but it means we only have 1 italian CB and he is 4th choice (Gabbia).
Kalulu will remain in the center. Thiaw is for the bench man
