Three consecutive clean sheets for Milan as Tomori finds his best form

AC Milan kept yet another clean sheet yesterday evening despite having to play with Olivier Giroud in goal for the final minutes. It was the Rossoneri’s third consecutive clean sheet, which is a testament to their recent defensive stability.

Fikayo Tomori and Malick Thiaw have been brilliant at the back ever since the derby, which the Englishman didn’t feature in, and together on the pitch they have conceded just two goals this season.

Out of the two, Tomori has been the standout in the last few weeks, covering a lot of ground on the pitch and always finding a way to break up the attacks. Of course, the two complement each other very well but the former Chelsea man deserves extra praise.

This new-found defensive stability has been incredibly important for Milan as they have struggled to find the back of the net in attack. Stefano Pioli will thus be looking to get the attack underway fully after the break, as that would be a real recipe for success.

Against Juventus, however, he will have to make do without Theo Hernandez and Mike Maignan who are suspended. The defensive response will be very interesting to see, but now they have the confidence to do well.
