CorSera: The three players Fonseca is most unhappy with and the reasons

Anyone who thought that Paulo Fonseca would take a backwards step after his outburst against the team on Wednesday will have to think again.

According to Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), the Portuguese coach hasn’t had any second thoughts. In fact, yesterday he reiterated the same concept at Milanello when training resumed: the team need to give more in training and in matches, especially some players.

Three players in particular have ended up in Fonseca’s crosshairs, with whom the Milan coach has already had a meeting yesterday. The first is Theo Hernandez, unrecognisable for weeks and a distant relative of the devastating full-back of the past seasons.

The other two are Davide Calabria and Fikayo Tomori, who have both lost their starting places on the pitch this year. The captain – after being taken off – ignored Fonseca, while the English centre-back received a yellow card while warming up and will miss the Girona game on 22 January.

With those harsh words, Fonseca wanted to remind the players in front of their responsibilities and now expects a different attitude on and off the pitch. For this reason he opted for this public outburst which was a choice as courageous as it was risky.

Nonetheless, the former Lille boss is convinced that his outburst will achieve its desired effect. While waiting to understand if this will be the case, today the Rossoneri will begin preparing for Sunday’s match against Genoa, with some surprise exclusions possible.

  1. If a group of grown men with even the most basic football knowledge can band together like the avengers except from wish and make the conscious decision to appoint fonseca and Emerson royal. Then absolutely anything is possible at this club.

I honestly don’t care anymore if this coach stays or leaves. Whether he stays for the next 20 years or not. I don’t care because I know for certain, without any shadow of a doubt that this same management who lack enough experience and knowledge to make such bad decisions as those two previously named are more then capable of making the same error when hes gone.

You can put as much make-up on a pig as you want, do it’s hair and file its nails but at the end of the day it’s still a pig.

    1. Pretty much sums it up, had a good laugh when I saw we fired D’Ottavio last week, the last director who was qualified for his job rest are all new to their current job

      1. Whaaat? Are you saying the current Milan management hasn’t gotten their jobs due to top-of-the-class know-how and experience in what they do? 😀 😀 😀

  2. Yes. We have new drama at the end 2024. OMG this trophyless cardinale milan.

Captain Calabria go out after substitute, not sit on bench. Theo who is unmotivate (he want his big salary increase, 8 million).

  3. From the comments, I just knew D’Ottavio no longer at Milan. Woah that’s crazy!
Not on this site, so immediately searched it, It reads: “the sports director of “Milan”, Antonio D’Ottavio, has left his position after a series of strategic disagreements with the club’s owner advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic”.

Feel bad for what happened at this team..

  4. Just fire him already. He’s completely lost the team, and is taking us backwards. We play horribly, we’re placed horribly in the table, and literally nobody likes him. Why is he here? Cheap lazy ownership, that’s why. Failures
