CorSport: Three signings lined up plus attacking targets – Milan plotting for crucial summer mercato

By Oliver Fisher -

While several parties continue discussions over the sale of AC Milan from Elliott Management to Investcorp, planning for the summer window continues undisturbed.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, there are three current negotiations which should get over the line even if the new owners come in. The first is Sven Botman who should arrive from Lille for €30m, having already promised himself to Milan for some time and is hoping to be able to fulfil his dream as soon as possible by signing for the Rossoneri.

The name of Renato Sanches is also back in vogue and he is a long-time target of Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara. Back in January Milan were close to signing him but the salary requests of the player put them off, however his agent Jorge Mendes is in constant contact with Milan and he could arrive for less than €20m.

Finally, striker Divock Origi should join for free once his deal with Liverpool expires. The Belgian has had several offers but has decided to join the Diavolo and start a new adventure in a new country.

In the summer transfer campaign Investcorp will also have to fund other signings as the management go in search of a playmaker and a right winger. For the right flank Domenico Berardi of Sassuolo and Marco Asensio of Real Madrid have been linked, and Jesse Lingard – whose contract with Manchester United is expiring – could be an option.

  1. All very good signings. On top of those 3, we still of course need a RW and another reinforcement up top at forward and a CAM would be nice too.

Dybala could fit either RW or CAM role. Berardi would be a great RW option… we shall see…
