Marcus Thuram appeared to aim a jab at AC Milan and Inter’s rivals after they won the Scudetto over the weekend.

Following the mathematical clinching of the 21st Scudetto in Inter’s, some Inter players continued their celebrations on social media. In particular, Thuram and Hakan Calhanoglu hosted a live Instagram broadcast.

During the video – as MilanPress write – the French striker took a dig at Milan, who defeated the Nerazzurri in both league meetings this season but were ultimately far more inconsistent against the teams outside the European places.

Thuram said: “Some people are p*ssed off. We don’t win the big matches. They said Inter were an old team. Did they give a prize to those who win the big matches?” Calhanoglu’s response was quick: “Blah, blah, blah… ”

A bitter history

There is a past involving the two players involved. Milan were really close to signing Thuram from Borussia Mönchengladbach on a free transfer during the 2023 summer window. They made an offer that he looked ready to accept, before Inter swooped late and offered more in salary.

Meanwhile, Calhanoglu spent several years at Milan before crossing the city divide and joining the Nerazzurri on a free transfer. It is a move that many fans have not forgiven, and they are unlikely to any time soon.

  1. Lets us not distract you from your celebrations guys. Milan has that effect on many a team in serie a, we are constantly on their minds. Shame…

  2. Maybe we as Milan fans are being too harsh. Remember what Theo and Ibrahimovic did to them? So just accept what they did. Karma is cruel, my friend.
