Thuram feeling confident about Inter ahead of derby against Milan: “We’ll win”

By Oliver Fisher -

Inter striker Marcus Thuram seems to be confident that he will be celebrating a victory in the derby against Inter 10 days from now.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) sent journalist Alessandro Grandesso to France’s training camp at Clairefontaine – which is the headquarters of the French national team – where they are preparing for games against Ireland and Germany over the break.

Grandesso spoke to Olivier Giroud who admitted that he is already starting to feel the anticipation ahead of the match, while Lucas Hernandez offered some insight into the banter between his brother Theo and his close friend Benjamin Pavard of Inter.

He also managed to get a very brief comment from Thuram, who joined the Nerazzurri on a free transfer during the summer and opened his account for the season during their victory against Fiorentina at the weekend.

“The derby? We’ll win,” the former Borussia Mönchengladbach star declared, in a ‘provocative but joking tone’.

It is worth remembering that things could have been much different for Thuram, who looked set to be the first signing for the new management of Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada.

However, the negotiations ran into difficulties and then Inter came in with a higher salary offer to swoop the Frenchman, so he signed there instead.

  1. Who cares what Thuram says and wants to do. Sliding door moments…Let him enjoy the blue side of town, we will cheer for the red side…we don’t give a damn what he wants to do come derby day.
